After speaking to a few folks and looking at what is out there... all in line with my future plans I have ordered the TC Kline Roll cage front clip to complete my cage. Jim (at TC Kline/ProParts/TriPoint/Bah lah blah :) ) tells me this will take some welding to install but will meet BMW CCA regs. He also told me a long story about how they currently got to be in the mess they are in with roll bars and cages. Real nice guy and quite patient with an over-revved wanna bee racer such as myself. I have been given a 2 month estimated time to creation after asking for a conservative estimate... I told them they had the sale no matter what and I wanted to know when I could really count on it by. Apparently E30 bars have gone out and a batch of E36 bars are just being finished on the west coast. Of course I don't care as I already have a rollbar and want a cage. Just an fyi for those waiting :) With all the folks that have left and the current racing effort the best person to try to reach for now is Jim. ( Jim at ProParts West at 818-888-8904 or ProPartsW@aol.com ) Bob Tunnel said he was going to send something to the list but I am on a cell-modem right now and not about to download all the traffic and check for it. If it's not here it will be soon. Dave Spragg dave@spragg.com Natick, MA 99 M3 Sharked 92 330is Sharked and Supercharged (under construction)

Those using our 802.11 LAN just unplug and replace the Xircom with a Lucent or Cisco wireless LAN card. Our use of wireless versus phone/ethernet is usually mutually exclusive. [manditory M3 content] I think the Faraday shield effect in the M3 might limit the range of the wireless card. #7. Eibach sways...Part II - from Mdriver13@aol.com

Date: Fri, 16 Mar 2001 18:09:32 EST From: Mdriver13@aol.com Subject: Eibach sways...Part II Guys, Background data first; stock suspension with x-brace, JTD strut brace and now Eibach sway bars (set soft/soft). Well, after two more weeks one more thing I have noticed is that over RR tracks the front tires are back on the road in a hurry! On my way to work I cross a set of fairly even RR tracks on an angle as the road bends to the left. Before, the front end would "slide" about three inches or so...now the 'slide' is an inch or so at best;-)) Going home, I cross a somewhat uneven set of RR tracks on a country road with a stop sign about two car lengths after the tracks. Before, I use to hit the brakes hard right after the tracks and feel the ABS system kick in (sometimes stopping just pass the sign if I did not pump the brakes). Now, I can't feel the ABS kick in at all and I'm stopping well before the stop sign (NO wheel hop!!!!!). Also, I think braking dynamics are better. Is this possible...in that the front end will not dive as much? I know this is more related to struts and springs, but in transition if the front end dives the bars should provide an opposite force to help the springs and struts bring the geometry back to a neutral position. Overall, little change in commuter mode, big improvement in sport mode. Great modification. Best in my book for $$ spent, second overall to r-compound tires ($$ spent here ongoing). Autox season will tell me for sure, can't wait;-)) Bob Gill 97 ///M3 coupe Philly Region SCCA AS Champion 1997 & 2000 #13 BSP 2001

Gaskets and spring perches which should be renewed even though they are common to both M3 and 328i have been listed above. I assume you'll be using M3 swaybars. You need to know that the thrust system on the M3 struts is different, so assembly won't be quite like your old struts. I can help when you get to that point. #9. OT Wireless LAN part tre... Whatever. - from Jim Powell

Date: Fri, 16 Mar 2001 16:47:34 -0800 From: Jim Powell <jsp98m3@apexcone.com> Subject: OT Wireless LAN part tre... Whatever. I went over to mega CompUSA (aka highest cost on the planet) and looked at everything in the 802.11b family. They only had 2 vendors that sold everything required. DLink and Linksys. I've heard good things about Linksys. DLink to me always seemed kind of bargain basement. True? Not? The DLink prices for a WAP, one PCMCIA and one PCI/PCMCIA adapter rings up to $518 + tax. There's a 10% off sale going but I figure I can do better. Linksys was about $75 higher for the 3 pieces. What's the best place on the web to buy this stuff? I'm going to see what the IT department can do for me too. But I don't expect price breaks better from them unless I buy Cisco stuff. Jim
