Date: Sat, 24 Mar 2001 08:04:15 EST From: HYPERM3@aol.com Subject: Very Odd Problem (kinda long) Hey all, I haven't spoken much recently but I'll give a little background. I have a 97 M3/2 with an RMS. supercharger. I race drag and auto-x. I have almost 29k miles on the car at this moment. When I drag raced, I put in high octane fuel (100+). I don't remember the last time my CE light wasn't on, its been a permanent fixture on my dashboard. I have a dedicated O2 sensor for my air/fuel meter, and I have the ARCII a/f controller. The problem is sometime when I'm driving, the car will buck. It will stall out at red lights or stop signs requiring multiple (embarrassing) restarts. I could be going 5mph or sometimes 25mph and ill be watching the meter and it will go full lean. When this happens the car totally slows down (obviously) and doesnt react when I push on the gas pedal. I mean, I can push, pump, squeeze the gas pedal and the car has no reaction whatsoever, not even the fuel meter reads that it gets more gas. Does anyone know what's going on with this? Thanks in advance, Alex "HyperM3" Demsky 97 SC in Boston

#6. E36 M3 Fuel Filter for sale - from Carguymb@aol.com
Top
Date: Sat, 24 Mar 2001 12:13:10 EST From: Carguymb@aol.com Subject: E36 M3 Fuel Filter for sale When I recently purchased the fuel filter for my M3, I was sent the wrong one. I have an early '95, which uses the short filter up in the engine bay, but received the later long thin version of the filter which mounts under the floor on the drivers side (and which I believe is common to later '95 through '99). So, what I have, and don't need, is a Mann WK 516/1. If anybody's interested, I'll sell it (rather than get involved in the hassles of sending it back) for what I paid for the correct filter: $14.00, plus $5.50 shipping (Total $19.50). E-mail me privately if interested. Martin Bullen '95 M3 '97 Z3 2.8

#7. Pulling Codes from 95 M3 & Opinions on Price Wanted - from Geof McLaughlin

Date: Sat, 24 Mar 2001 13:15:16 -0500 From: Geof McLaughlin <gfmiiilist@usa.net> Subject: Pulling Codes from 95 M3 & Opinions on Price Wanted I am going to look at a used 95 M3 tomorrow and want to check to see if any codes have been stored in the ECM. As I currently own a 99 and you can't do this without the Peake tool, I am unfamiliar with the procedure. Can someone forward it to me please? Also, what are fellow list members thoughts on a price of $17000 for a stock 95 M3 with a little over 100K miles and a clean title (and almost 2 years left on an aftermarket warranty)? It is a street car that I plan to convert it to track use (BMWCCA Club Racing and driving schools) so the normal wear and tear items will all be replaced anyway. It seems like a fairly good deal to me, but there's something nagging me that I may be able to get a better deal. Thanks in advance. Geof

Just fancy, show-off antics, right? Ok, so what were they saying? "If you drive skidpads, this is the car to get!" Anybody have a brushed aluminum interior kit in their M now? where from? etc. etc. Thanks, and i'll also buy a used one if someone has it. Actually im looking for anything brushed aluminum aside from the shift knob and e-brake that i have already. thanks, Frank =20

I made a typo and meant to say "... 2:1 mechanical relationship between the crankshaft and camshaft." The camshaft is half the speed of the crankshaft. _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com
