My tire shop got me a great deal (a Pirelli dealer of course) and I'm swapping my worn Pilot Sports for a set of the new P-Zero Rossos in stock sizes. The reviews I've read on the tire have been very good and I'm looking forward to comparing them to my Pilot Sports since the Michelins are the only street summer tires I've had on the car. Apparently the Rossos have stiffer sidewalls and is much better in the rain than the previous generation. If anyone's interested in the outcome, send me an e-mail privately and I'll give you some first impressions in a couple of weeks. Roy '99 M3/2 (summer shoes going back on soon!) _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com.

I've got the yellow's on my car right now (assymetrico on all 4, 235/40) and I hate them. They don't grip very well unless they're _very_ hot, they don't give you any feedback, they hydroplane like mad in the rain, and they wear incredibly quickly. After two days at Sears Point last week, my driver's side front tire had _noticeably_ lower tread than the other front tire -- at least 3/32's). Not a great quality for a tire. I'd be interested in hearing about the Rosso's. Hopefully they're better. I heard about a tire test day for the new S-03's that I'm hoping to get invited to. That might be the new set of shoes on my '95... -p

They where actually on the car when I bought it. I have a quite stiff MK Motorsport chassie which IMO affects the behaviour of different tires. So take that into the equation... They had lots of thread left on them. But they where SCARY on wet! I was very very dissapointed. Now I don't know if they had gone hard or something but they where ok on dry and looked very ok. Anyway, they didn't last long.... Now I have my favourite tire on PZero-C! I love them! Much better in the wet (not puddles though) even though it's an R-tire. Ggreat fun on the track. Very safe characteristics, tells me what's going on in advance. Love em! /Magnus Thomé > -----Original Message----- > From: Roy Kao [mailto:bimmerphile@hotmail.com] > Sent: den 30 mars 2001 07:10 > To: E36M3 > Subject: [E36M3] Pirelli P-Zero on E36 M3 > > > Date: Fri, 30 Mar 2001 00:04:53 -0500 > From: "Roy Kao" <bimmerphile@hotmail.com> > Subject: Pirelli P-Zero on E36 M3 > > Has anyone ever tried a set of P-Zero's on their E36 M3? Unfoutunetly my dealer knows me all to well and would charge me a special dealer fee called the "we have the perfect car for you" fee in addition to the 15,000 market adjustment. By the way, a 95 m3 was sold privately yesterday in VT. My brother said it went for 16,500. For 1,500 more than market adjustment, you can own a car. ben- >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Now, if and when the V8 version of this new fine machine comes to pass with a few new colors and some interior changes...all bets are off. Wouldn't the two rear doors add weight compared to the coupe? Back to the 3.0 L and 3.2 L topic. I remember reading that the dyno showed that torque curve was very even for the two engines. Is this the case? A.J.

Yeah, people seem to forget that instead of an extra set of doors, we have metal and a window, etc over there. > seems like the increased structural strength and lower insurance make the 4 > door a good choice.
