They stick better than the Yokohama race compound tires and last just as long, if not longer. I agree that Kumhos and especially Hoosiers are faster, but I'm interested in a good balance between traction and wear. Toyos wins hands down in this area. Now if you're competing for FTD in an autocross or racing on the track, then yes, Toyos would not be your best choice. #9. E46M3 mailing list?? - from Sue Kraft

Date: Tue, 03 Apr 2001 23:43:12 -0500 From: Sue Kraft <skraft1@new.rr.com> Subject: E46M3 mailing list?? With all the talk of the new M3, how many would be interested in a separate mailing list? I'm also curious as to how many are on a waiting list and expect to have an E46 M3 this year? I took a test drive in the dealer demo today and thought the car was actually nicer (looks and handling wise) than I expected. I just wish there were a better choice of colors -- black seems to be the only way to go. Now I have to decide between jet black and carbon black. Dealer says I should have my new M3 hopefully by July. Suzy

#10. Overheating Problems - Resolution - from Peter Guagenti
Top
Date: Tue, 03 Apr 2001 21:57:22 -0700 From: Peter Guagenti <peter@guagenti.com> Subject: Overheating Problems - Resolution Got the car towed to Bill Arnold's place and, as everyone had said, the water pump was toast. The impeller had disconnected from the shaft. Thankfully, the impeller was in one piece, so no damage done to the coolant system, and an inspection of the head showed no signs of gasket failure. I'll be watching the car over the next few months to see if anything else happens. I may get the oil checked for coolant with the next change as well, just to see if there's anything I should worry about. Thanks to everyone for their help. -peterg
