How would I go about mounting a video camera in an M3/4 without a roll bar or harness bar? Has anyone come up with a good solution, other than a broom stick and lots of tape :) Thanks, Rob

You're >probably better off with a good street pad for autox. yes! tracking and autocrossing are very different. despite my dislike for R4S pads at the track, i think R4S pads would be just about perfect for autocross. they stop amazingly well. heat up fast enough to be almost 100% effective in one stop. and with a short autocross you won't have any of the superheating problems you do at the track. but... they will STILL go away very fast, and you'll replace them in half the time as stock pads, but who cares about money when you're racing? performance is everything. ;-) (only half sarcastic, i use parts that cost more but didn't last as long on my race car all int eh name of performance) _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com

(into turn 11 is hard, >but you aren't going as fast, and into the corkscrew is uphill...) well comapred to the brake eating tracks in the northewest (bremerton, mission, and sir (not as bad)) t-hill is nothing. it has more to do with cooling time between stops then how hard the stops are. bremerton only has 2 hard braking zones but there's no time between them. t-hill does a descent job of letting you cool down between hard stops. not as good as PIR though. that track is a dream on brakes. lots of only half hearted braking zones. ;-) and it's good for tires too since it runs clockwise. i can wear off the other edges of my tires. ;-P _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com

(into turn 11 is hard, > but you aren't going as fast, and into the corkscrew is uphill...) Laguna is brake, turn, accelerate, brake, turn, accelerate (11 times). very few combinations. The only turn I don't brake heavily for is 9 (just a light tap)... Thunderhill, on the otherhand, has more combinations so you aren't on the brakes as much -- 3-4-5-6 (depending which route you take for 5), and 12-13... Scott

#7. The intro track pad - from John Genereux

Date: Thu, 5 Apr 2001 05:15:43 -0700 (PDT) From: John Genereux <white98m3@yahoo.com> Subject: The intro track pad Hi everyone, One pad that I am surprised that no one has talked about is the Performance Friction Z-rated. This is PF's high performance pad. I have used these on the track and they work very well. I am a group I driver witht he Boston chapter and these pads will start to fade on me after about 20-25min in group I. I used these with almost no trouble at all in the lower groups. The best part about these pads is that they are CHEAP!! I buy them from autozone (in the NE) for $60 front and $60 rear. This is with a lifetime warranty!! Wear em out bring em back for a new pair. They are a special order so they take about 3 days to get them to the store. They are a great steet pad as well. Less dust than stock, no noise, they do take about 2-3 stop to heat up on the street however. I run 245/45 front and rear on both BBS RX and Borbet Type T wheels with no rubbing on the strut except very slight contact in extreme cornering. I do not use spacers. At full right lock, a new left front tire will just barely touch the inner fender liner. I have no issues at all in the rear. It's close but okay. ....ned. Date: Thu, 05 Apr 2001 09:25:01 -0400 From: "Mohammed Fares" <mofares@hotmail.com> Subject: Help with Check Engine Light I have the check engine light come on in my '95 M3. I have not taken the car to the "dealer" as yet, instead I changed the 02 sensor per my mechanics recommendation but the light still comes on here and there. I'm also having some cold start problems as well (dies at times) and idle seems of be hovering around 1,000 rpm at normal operating temperature. Any suggestions would be appreciated before I take it to the dealer to get the codes read? Thanks.
