#1. Modena Mats - from Wayne Miller

Date: Thu, 5 Apr 2001 11:42:45 -0400 From: "Wayne Miller" <m3@waynemiller.com> Subject: Modena Mats Well, I finally figured out what the problem was with the mats that didn't match - they sent me the wrong ones. Instead of sending me Magma ones, they sent me Modena ones. Of course, I hadn't opened the box for 1.5 years so I didn't know this. I called Nick Alexander Imports (where I bought them) and they said that I could exchange them with my receipt (which I had). I sent them back and they called to tell me that they can't accept them because they were "damaged". Now, they were only out of the box once for about 15 minutes and never used anywhere so I can't see how they got damaged but I do understand not wanting to take something back after so long. The point of this is, does anyone want a set of "damaged" Modena mats cheap? Make me an offer. -Wayne

Most companies that sell it, just resell it. You want to get one with the dowel pin so that in the event that the bolts come off, the flywheel doesn't buzz saw it's way through your tranny tunnel and through your feet! The Active Autowerke one (again, not sure if they make it or resell it), has the dowel pin secured from the other side. http://www.activeautowerke.com/drivetrain/e36flywheel.asp - If you have a 12 lb aluminum flywheel, you should be good to go without the reprogramming. - Again, the 12lb flywheel doesn't exhibit the chattering of the lighter ones. Also, apparently JimC complained a while back that the OE dual mass flywheel wasn't tuned for our cars and that after many replacements, it still didn't perform well. Not only that, that picture will be turned into stylized line art and silkscreened onto the trophy plaques for San Diego autocrosses in the near future. I suggest you show up for the July event and see if you can grab one. Date: Thu, 5 Apr 2001 09:17:12 -0700 (PDT) From: John Stoj <John_Stoj@excite.com> Subject: Re: [E36M3] Rare M3 for sale Seth points out: You guys might want to look at this rare M3 for sale on Ebay. I don't think I have ever seen one with all these options. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cgi/ebayISAPI.dll?MfcISAPICommand=ViewItem &item=576379666&t=0&r=0&indexURL=0&photoDisplayType=2#ebaylargephotohosting That's true - this car is in "concourse condition." I don't know whether that's lower or upper concourse, but that probably won't affect the value. Also, that super-rare white color is simply amazing. I was tempted to bid on it myself when he said that "this M3 looks, runs and drives better than most '89 and '99 models," but I have a '97, so mine must be better. - John S. _______________________________________________________ Send a cool gift with your E-Card http://www.bluemountain.com/giftcenter/
