I've been told to just yank it out, but I'm afraid to break any clips and make a mess of it... Can I do this myself (and if so, how would I go about it) or should I let a pro take care of it? I've found that the key word is "immediately" in Step IV. =20 Farther down in this message you'll find a list of the flash codes and what they mean. Use the column that corresponds to your DME version. = For my '95 M3, built in June of 1994, the version is M3 3.1, the column on the far right. According to the DME Application Guide mentioned below, the rightmost column applies to M3s built through December, 1994. Later '95s appear to use something called: M3 3.1 w/EWS-II. Unfortunately, I can't tell you whether the codes for this later version of the DME are the same as the codes for the earlier version, but I suspect that they are. =20 Cheers, Lee Hassig '95 M3 =20 Procedure for Acquiring Flash Codes from your BMW Instructions by Ben Thongsai, bimmers.com, inc. =20 Note: Your BMW must have Motronic version 1.1 or higher. #8. rear ended in California - from Scott Smith

Date: Thu, 05 Apr 2001 19:47:32 -0700 From: Scott Smith <ssmith@akamai.com> Subject: rear ended in California I just got in a hit and run in California -- I was rear ended by someone evading the cops on 101N (around Peninsula Ave). Does anyone know how insurance in California handles this? I know Calif is one of those "no-fault" states -- I really don't want my insurance to go up at this point (I'm already high risk enough as it is...) I was hoping to contact the CHP and get some in car footage of the incident (there was a CHP in hot pursuit). Scott '97 M3, bruised bumper... '96 993TT, cracked rim...
