My 99 does that as do a handful of M3's I have driven and listened to at local autocrosses. It sounds like some kind of resonation... and sweet it is. ;) Dave Spragg dave@spragg.com Natick, MA 99 M3 Sharked 92 330is Sharked and Supercharged (undergoing surgery) -----Original Message----- From: Geof McLaughlin [mailto:gfmiiilist@usa.net] Sent: Monday, April 09, 2001 10:20 PM To: E36M3 Subject: [E36M3] Anyone else with Conforti ITG Intake System? Boy, does my car sing now...I feel like I'm in the cockpit of one of those German Touring cars! As I am not exactly use to this sound, the only thing that concerns me is the pattern of this noise. It's almost as if there is a pulsing to the intake noise instead of a smooth, rising crescendo. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? This by the way is usually only under full throttle (sometimes though under partial throttle in certain RPM bands, especially when first pushing the throttle down just a little). I'd love to hear from other Conforti CAI owners on their thoughts on this subject. Thanks. I recently washed my engine bay and when I covered the ITG intake I had to push back on the carbon fiber tubing to fit the bag over. After I removed the bag and took the car for a spin, I had the pulsing. I pulled over and looked under the hood, the rubber elbow that enters the MAF was compressed. I rearranged the CAI so that it was straight again. See if that may be the case with you car. Good luck. Ed Tang 95 Cosmos M3 __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Only thing that tripped us up was that if you have a factory CD changer in the trunk, double the time. It took as long to reinstall that damn thing than the rest of the procedure. Although that was probably due to my own ignorance or lack of BMW special CD changer third little screw that's hard to reach screwdriver, part number 666-666-999 Kudos to the racepad group. Great pictures too. Jonathan 95 m3 Raleigh

#10. 255/40r17 Kumho - from Kit Wetzler

Date: Tue, 10 Apr 2001 09:06:14 -0700 From: "Kit Wetzler" <kitwetzler@mindspring.com> Subject: 255/40r17 Kumho has anyone with an M3/4 run a 255/40r17 on their cars with a 17x8.5" m-contour all around? I *think* that is what I want, but I'm not totally sure. Tire rack says that they're almost an inch wider in cross section than my 245/40r17 R1As, but they compare the R1A on an 8.5" rim with the 255/40r17 on a 9" rim. What say you all? Jim O, I know you run a 255/40r17 Kumho, does it fit without fender rolling? I did roll my fenders in the rear a bit... -kit, thinking about more forgiving tires than his R1As
