#1. Conforti ITG _ problems ?? - from Ben C. Tickner

Date: Tue, 10 Apr 2001 23:08:22 -0700 From: "Ben C. Tickner" <ben@infofusion.com> Subject: Conforti ITG _ problems ?? Geof, I have the same kit and the pulsing noise that you speak of has always been there on my car. I think that the noise is also on the car prior to the install and is muffled by the restricted stock system, its just after the install it is amplified through out the new intake. I have driven almost 29,000 miles with it like this and everything is fine. No CE lights or problems. Except for......... 1-a peculiar excessive rear tire wear problem. 2-the desire to drive at higher RPMs. 3-Excuses to my accountant about $1200.00 replacement air filter kits. 4-Strange credit card purchases to BBTriFlo. Besides these instances I have not noticed anything unusual. Ben- All jokes aside that kit really does scream and I recommend it to any 95 owner. Now all I need is the cam/injector addon or a forced induction kit. the need 4 speed never ends. BMW CCA # 192752 Boston Chapter :::::::::::::::::::::::: Ben C. #2. Ft.Worth Solo II Nationals - from Chris Gant

Date: Tue, 10 Apr 2001 12:34:06 -0500 From: "Chris Gant" <cgant@home.com> Subject: Ft.Worth Solo II Nationals Hi all, Just wanted to give a quick upadate on the event this last weekend. There were several Z06 vettes there, most were running in super stock with one in BSP. The Z06's were extremely fast, the fastest one being driven by a national champion. I really wished I had a new M3 to run aginst them in the Super Stock class, as I think it would have been right there at the top of the times. As for BSP, there were only 6 of us...two C4's, two C5's, the Z06 and I was the only M3. Fortunately for me, none of them were national champs, so we had some similar times at the end of the first day, and after sunday's runs, I had a 4.5 second lead over the Z06. I just wanted to say thanks for all you track junkies/suspension guru's out there for some really great advise on setting up the M3.

Are you aware of how the internet actually works? Packets of message sections bounce around from node to node sometimes going overseas before arriving at a receiving ISP and put back together into a complete message. There are delays and many reroutings depending on traffic. It's amazing that they ever get to the recipient! So, what order they arrive in is very random. I have on occasion had a message float around for three or four days before arriving! I pushed the plastic tubing too far through the heat shield and compressed the rubber shrouding before the MAF. Ed __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? I am running the SA Koni /w Eibach springs. Initially, I had them set for full stiff. After a year, it becomes too stiff. Now I have the fron and rear set half way. How does everyone else has their set? --- anthony > Date: Mon, 9 Apr 2001 20:23:07 -0600 > From: "Rob" <motor@cadvision.com> > Subject: Koni - adjustment & install questions > > Group, > my Koni SA's are going in this weekend and I'm looking for some advice: > > -What is the best way to adjust the rears? You don't even have to find a bike store: Sears has them. In a pinch you can also use the RSMs as a handle if the T-wrench isn't available. > i can't imagine doing it any other way. you'll never be able to do it with > a vice, and i'd be afraid of scratching up the sirface anyway. Sure you can. And a real vise arguably makes a better vise than your feet do. Well, than my feet anyway, I haven't seen yours! Just clamp the mounting eye end in a bench vise with the shock more or less horizontal, and lean into it. (Once again, I have to observe that it's a damn good thing that Koni rear shocks are functionally so good, because otherwise we'd never put up with their frickin' stupid half-assed adjustment method. And yes, I do feel better now...) Neil 96 M3 - Konis
