I was under the impression that these and all German made pads do not contain asbestos. Is this correct? Are there any other harmful things of which I need to be aware? Eric 95 ///M3

Date: Fri, 13 Apr 2001 17:29:19 -0500 From: "eugene han" <gene501@hotmail.com> Subject: anyone ever fix a rear bumper?? Accidentally bumped into another car backing out (i know, i know, i know) and now the right edge is about an inch lower. Anyone experience something similar to this? I can't tell from looking what has broken. If it isn't too difficult, I will go out and buy a repair manual and try to fix it myself, but I know how bumpers are made funny these days and fear that I will be shelling out lots of $$$ to a shop. Thanks in Advance! Eugene Han 97 ///M3 coupe Alpine White, lux, jacked up rear bumper.

They are "tracks" that the bumper slides into. The rear bumper is really easy to take off. First take off the black diffuser below the bumper. It is held on by two metal screws at the ends and 3 or 4 plastic push rivets. One off, you will notice a small screw holding a part of the bumper. Take this screw out. Then inside each wheel well you will find several 10 mm screws. Remove the ones along the outside. You won't have to remove all the screws but it you take out more than need, that is OK. Then the only real substantial bolts holding the bumper on are below. Look under the bumper. You will find two Torx headed bolts. I think they are size T-35. They are recessed pretty deep into the bumper. You will need an extension to reach them. Take them out and the whole bumper will slide off. You will be able to quickly see what is broken then. Good luck. Lowell Seaton '95 M3 - bumpers removed a few times

I don't know the details though as to what parts are required and if any special coding is needed. I noticed today riding around, the gage is fluctuating between mid and upper temp line. This gauge has never read above mid line. I am suspecting air trapped in the system. The manual tells to bleed from bleeder screw on expansion tank.....EXCEPT M3. Here is says to bleed through thermostat housing. I can't see a bleeder screw on the = housing. Can somebody help point this out to me along with procedure for = bleeding all the air out. =20 Chris McCormick 96 Coupe swaying with Eibach's Preparing for Limerock on April 20.=20
