Date: Sat, 21 Apr 2001 23:28:46 -0400 From: "Jeremy Lucas" <jlucas@columbus.rr.com> Subject: List Wisdom Needed -- splash guard replacement After an unfortunate incident with some road kill this evening, my splash guard was torn free and dragged quite a bit (despite my roadside efforts to prevent the dragging). I've searched my Bentley manual but no diagrams or pictures of the splash guard mounting can be found to aid in it's removal and replacement. 1) Does anyone have a link to this type of information?? Uberjeph had some information that I remember looking at in the past but that site no longer is up. 2) Any thoughts on which replacement I should get? stock? JTD? Anybody done both, which is better? 3) Anybody run without one? Are there any consequences to leaving it off? Thanks in advance, Jeremy Lucas 95 M3

#2. STN Rings Installed!! - from Jeremy Lucas

Date: Sat, 21 Apr 2001 23:58:53 -0400 From: "Jeremy Lucas" <jlucas@columbus.rr.com> Subject: STN Rings Installed!! Thanks to everyone who recommended the JTD STN Rings. I installed them this afternoon, and like the positive, no second guessing, shifting action. :) Two thumbs up! Yes, they transmit a little more vibration to the cabin but it's really minor. On the way home, from this install, is when I hit the roadkill that tore my splash shield/guard. :( Jeremy Lucas 95 M3 Delaware, OH

#3. E46 M3 $75K! - from Stephen L. Diamond

Date: Sat, 21 Apr 2001 22:22:44 -0700 From: "Stephen L. Diamond" <diamond@picosoft.com> Subject: E46 M3 $75K! My local dealer tells me that they just sold their blue E46 M3 demo car for $75K, probably a $20K "uplift." Customers on their regular waiting list are expected to pay $15K over sticker, so this purchaser apparently paid $5K extra for skipping to the head of the line, not to mention all the abuse we put on the car during test drives. I won't comment on the "blue" color. What local uplifts are other readers seeing? Regards, Steve

#4. E46 M3 E-brake handle - from Lew Becker
Top
Date: Sat, 21 Apr 2001 23:37:28 -0700 From: "Lew Becker" <lmbeckercfls@earthlink.net> Subject: E46 M3 E-brake handle I recall having seen some photos of the E46 M3 interior showing a polished aluminum parking brake handle. Seems like it should go well with the factory polished aluminum ///M badged shift knob in my M3. Does anyone know if the E46 M3 handle is, in fact, polished aluminum; will it fit the E36; and, if so, the part number? Thanks. Lew Becker

Just waved to the owner every time when I passed by him, but have not talked with him yet. It looks big sitting next to his other M3 - a 95 yellow. :o) David --------------------------------------------------------------------- D Seeley wrote: Monday 11am in Milpitas on Dixon Landing Road. No stealth car - it was two blocks away when I noticed the LS blue. The color looks a lot better in motion than on display. Anyone here? The below pictures show the MC112 bolts I initially received. They where way too long. So I got the shorter MC212 instead (same diameter). Trying to mount them today (finally ;-) I found out that the diameter is a bit too small and they are still to long. :-( So they are no better than crash bolts but cost much more. :-( The original bolt that fits tightly through the spindle mounting hole seems to be 13mm in diameter. There seems to be no "Magic Camber" bolt in that diameter. I'm considering making the holes on the strut slightly oval and then use the original bolts... /Magnus Thomé > From: Magnus Thomé [mailto:magnus.thome@envox.com] > http://www.public.se/magnus.t/camberbolts3.jpg > http://www.public.se/magnus.t/camberbolts2.jpg > http://www.public.se/magnus.t/camberbolts1.jpg > > Yet to put them on. The undertray forces air through the radiator. If you never track the car, or live in hot weather you can go without it, as some on the list have done. FYI - They had a blue M3 6speed on the floor for $51,000. A far cry from the $81,000 window price for the same car at Braman Motors in West Palm Beach, Florida bob weber
