#1. Re: E46 M3 $75K! - from Roger Baker

Date: Sun, 22 Apr 2001 13:42:04 -0700 From: Roger Baker <rbaker@velodyne.com> Subject: Re: E46 M3 $75K! Are you here in the Silicon Valley? Sounds like it. I've been talking to a few sales people (if you can call them that) about the new M3 (Steven's Crk BMW here in Santa Clara). Of the 3 sales people I've talked to, only one was reasonably knowledgeable & admitted they are just asking a lot of money due to supply & demand. He made no attempt to answer why they sold their demo model, & stated even if they didn't their store policy would not allow any test drives on "M" models period. His answer was "It's an M, you don't need to drive it to know what it's like". A second sales slime there wanted me to put down a $10K deposit before he would even talk to me about it. A third flat out insulted my intelligence by lying to me about the price & options on the car (stating their $69.9K asking price was not bad since the car's MSRP is $59K, not ~$53K as I stated the car should be. Love these guys, he even told me the "sport" button option (really standard) added a few K to the price which is why this one MSRP'd out at $59K, along with that expensive CD option in the dash. Looks like I'll be waiting & searching for a dealer out of the Bay Area before I buy one. Gee, I bet the Chevy dealer wouldn't be this rude if I wanted to order a new 405 hp Z06 Vette. -- Roger Baker "Stephen L. Why would someone pay so much unless they had just gobs of $$$ to throw away? BMW is planning to sell even MORE e46 m3's than they did e36 m3's . . . meaning that in a few months we can expect the dealerships to be chock full of them . . . who's going to be charging $75k then? #3. Brake pulsating or thudding - from Michael Turgeon

Date: Mon, 23 Apr 2001 05:58:33 -0700 (PDT) From: Michael Turgeon <turgeon1@yahoo.com> Subject: Brake pulsating or thudding Hi Gruppe: During the last two sessions of last weekends DS at Putnam I started to experience a brake thudding or pulsating under heavy braking. I checked the brakes on the way home and it was still there. The steering wheel was not shaking or sawing back in forth in my hands rather, it kind of felt like the ABS was kicking in, but the frequency was slower and it felt a bit more pronounced. There is no abnormal sounds or sensations felt under normal drive conditions. My brake system: SS brake lines, Bimmerworld ducting kit, Euro rotors, Pagid street pads, Ate fluid Are the rotors warped? Will a change in pads make a difference? Any ideas, I have another school in two weeks. TIA, Mike Turgeon BMW CCA #166866 95 M3 Avus __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! I am running 1) Camber -2.2 2) 17*8 with 245 Hoosiers all around 3) X-Brace 4) RD Swaybars with front full soft and rear full stiff Its sooo annoying becuase the car wont toss around. I shot my front left tire at Lime Rock in 3 sessions. Yes some will say drive slower but even climbing up the uphill the car would understeer. It is extremely frustrating and I want to neurtralize the car and have it to be a little bit more tail happy so I can drift it around than just have it plow plow plow like a pig. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance Ahmad 98/4 PS: for street, I have no problems its only the track where this thing is bothering the hell out of me. Also I run on street and a reasonable camber setting needs to be used as to not kill those tires in <3000 miles. _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com

I don't know a whole lot about it as I didn't use it much, but it does have laser. I don't really know how much to ask for it as I don't see them for sale used very often -- I guess I'll just take the best reasonable offer for it.
