(prefer bay area buyer) Includes 10mm hubcentric spacer and longer lug bolts (needed with my H&R coilovers) They were $700 a week ago, and have 3/4 of their life left. The wheels have brake dust on them, but are straight and balance out well. The tires have a little groove on the front two where they rubbed my coilover springs, but nothing to worry about. -kit 97 m3/4 (street car, now!)

If Powell backs out, we can do it at your place. I'm sure the wife won't mind, right? ;-) As I don't have Speedvision, anyone who invites me will enjoy a case of your favorite beer... okay, my favorite beer, but I have good taste. -p ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This message was sent using HiSpeed Technologies Webmail. http://www.hispeed.com

#5. Extended Warranty Pros/Cons - from Mike Cornwell
Top
Date: Thu, 26 Apr 2001 17:40:19 -0700 (PDT) From: Mike Cornwell <mcornwell@yahoo.com> Subject: Extended Warranty Pros/Cons I have about a day before I hit the 48,000 mile mark on my '98 M3/C, and was wondering what the consensus is on purchasing the BMW extended warranty? The dealer says the warranty would have to be purchased before the factory warranty expired. Can you tell I'm a procrastinator? :-) My local dealer quoted me about $2100 for a 3 year/75,000 mile warranty, and about $2900 for a 4 year/100,000 mile warranty (sounds like a better deal if I'm going to do either). Both carry a $100 deductable, though I could reduce that to $50 by paying an additional $50 (or was it $100?) up front. I don't plan to make any drastic changes to the car (no turbo/supercharging), though I have already sharked it. What might go in the next 50,000 miles that would justify the expenditure now? Tranny? VANOS? What do they cost for parts and labor? Thanks in advance, -Mike __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! #10. ABS Reset, Thermostat Housing - from Chris Brown
Top
Date: Thu, 26 Apr 2001 21:47:36 -0400 From: "Chris Brown" <ChrisB@Drextec.com> Subject: ABS Reset, Thermostat Housing Hello Everyone - I've got two very different questions to ask of the collective experience tonight. First, the easy one - I'm doing the water pump job, along with thermostat, belts and hoses. I understand there is an earlier thermostat housing available that is metal as opposed to the plastic one that is OEM on my car. Is this still available from BMW or others and what is the part number? Is it worth replacing the plastic version? Now, the slightly more difficult one. I found that my ABS system got rather confused at the track a few weeks ago. It seemed to happen after significant wheelspin in the Carousel at Summit Point. The ABS warning light came on, and the only way to regain function of the system was to cycle the ignition. I'd like to add an ABS on/off switch to the console, I had originally thought a momentary contact that allowed me to cycle the ABS computer would be sufficient, but now I think a single pole on/off switch with an indicator LED would be better. Has anyone done this and where did you tap into the ABS circuitry? Gee, and I was so sure I was going to leave it stock. Old habits die hard... Thanks!
