These guys are great!!! The facility is clean, organized, and everyone is professional and friendly. They got my business. I'm going back next week for new tires and alignment. Thanks Guys, Roman S. 96 ///M3

Do any of you have good photos of the race you might want to publish in the West Coast BMW CCA newsletters? If so, please send them to me (JPEG format). p.s the '97 M3 I'm considering selling is my stock, unmolested street car, not my race car. Thanks -- Scott Chan GGC Chapter Club Racing Correspondent

#3. Hard to Shift into 2nd,3rd, well you get the idea - from Bora Akyol

Date: Fri, 27 Apr 2001 21:49:15 -0700 From: Bora Akyol <akyol@akyol.org> Subject: Hard to Shift into 2nd,3rd, well you get the idea I have noticed that the transmission on my 95 M3 is having difficulty shifting into 2nd and 4th, not as much difficulty into 3rd and 5th. It is not the synchros, once I find the gear there is no problem slipping into the gear through the gate. It feels more like the shifter has "shifted" itself a bit to the right and I really need to pull the shifter to the left to get it into 2nd. Do I need to uuc my shifter, where should I start to look? Thanks Bora

I still have 4 different colors on my side, tho. Can't wait till Mike posts some pictures! (Hint, hint)

The first wave are all Imola Red with black leather, just opposite the look of the Smurf cars. Don't go look at one! They have genuine "tractor beams" that lure unsuspecting wallets. Dave Hogg

#6. Side Molding - from Lee Hassig
Top
Date: Sat, 28 Apr 2001 15:21:10 -0400 From: "Lee Hassig" <lhassig@earthlink.net> Subject: Side Molding Folks, =20 I gently kissed a taxi the other day. Before taking the car to the body shop, I removed the side molding by gently prying it off as instructed by Bentley. =20 Two of the molding clips broke, leaving a plug in the door that comes out easily. The others snapped off the molding without breaking. =20 Bentley says installation is the reverse of removal, but that's clearly BS. (That's a very lazy book, in my opinion.)=20 =20 Here's my question: When I reinstall the molding, do I leave the undamaged clips in the door--along with adding two fresh --and push the molding onto them. Or do I position the clips on the molding first and then press the clips into the door? The latter looks easier to me, and it that's the way to go, does anyone know how to remove the undamaged clips from the door without breaking off the tabs that hold them in? =20 Thanks for any advice, Lee Hassig '95 M3

#7. Toe Bushing Replacement - from Ron Katona
Top
Date: Sat, 28 Apr 2001 16:41:10 -0400 From: "Ron Katona" <rkatona@bellatlantic.net> Subject: Toe Bushing Replacement Just got done with this job on my '95. Using various write-ups including the one on Bob Tunnell's site, I knew exactly what to expect. Thanks to everyone who maintains info on this on their web sites. Removal was performed exactly as described in Bob's write-up and wasn't too bad a job. Installation was not the reverse of removal <g>. My only advice other than what's already out there is that I found an alternate way of installing the bushings that worked well for me. I didn't go with the steel plate and bolts/washers, or tap-tap-tapping with a hammer, but instead used a large (we're talking as big as you can find... like 16" or so) C-clamp and a metal cup from a ball joint puller set. If you're contemplating this job and don't have these items, see if you can rent or borrow them. I placed the cup (approximately the same or bigger diameter as the opening in the trailing arm) behind the opening in the trailing arm, then the bushing in the opening from the other side, then a block of wood on the bushing face. I then just placed the C-clamp around everything and pressed the bushing in place. I used some liquid soap as lubricant. You need a cup on the back side because the bushing extends past flush when it's fully inserted. This method worked very well other than you need two people because you're juggling a clamp, block of wood, metal cup, and the bushing/trailing arm. Installation of the bushings took only a minute or two once I got everything lined up and the clamp started - went in nice and straight. -- Ron Katona

#8. Latest webpage updates - from Jim Powell
Top
Date: Sat, 28 Apr 2001 15:52:04 -0700 From: Jim Powell <jsp98m3@apexcone.com> Subject: Latest webpage updates I updated a few things this morning. One is a passenger sensor circuit to install with the Recaros so that the airbag light won't turn on when you switch out the stock seats. When you install the Recaros move the stock seatbelt retractors over. This will allow you to use stock belts on the street. Adding the circuit as I did for the passenger occupant sensor will allow you to have everything work without the computer turning on the airbag light. See the bottom of the linked page for the particulars. http://www.apexcone.com/Recaros/Recaros.html Second, I changed the headlamp switch cluster out on my F650 BMW motorcycle. Most of you won't care but maybe Don Eilenberg will be kind enough to post the link on the BMW motorcycle pages for me. I had to get off due to the overwhelming volume of mail. http://www.apexcone.com/F650/EuroSwitch.html Jim

#9. detail shop in Seattle - from reed nicholson

Date: Sun, 29 Apr 2001 00:04:57 From: "reed nicholson" <reedthis48@hotmail.com> Subject: detail shop in Seattle For you Seattle area listers, just a quick plug for the Exeter Garage. They did a fabulous job on my M3 last Wednesday. I've tried a couple of the other detail shops that are generally highly thought of in this area, but these guys are on another level. They were also kind enough to give me a ride to work well outside of their normal shuttle service area, when the ride I had arranged fell through. Highly recommended.
