I do know that Conforti's Euro intake kit does have a 7200 RPM redline. That is what mine was at. Date: Wed, 2 May 2001 10:32:55 -0400 From: "Seth Thomas" <porsche993@mindspring.com> Subject: RE: [E36M3] E46 Spotted Today One thing that I wonder about with doing the E46 M3 conversion is how it will hook up to the E36 chassis. I don't think just putting the motor in the car would be a problem but the wiring would. I don't know too much about the E46 M3 wiring but it does seem like more stuff is going through it now than even a 96+ OBD2 E36. That would be a trick job if somebody could get it to work. But for what somebody would pay for an E46 M3 motor they could get an E36 3.2L Euro w/6-spd, install it, and still have money left over for performance upgrades. They would also have the same amount of power too. Sounds like a better decision to me. Another thing is do the E46 M3s throttle bodies bolt up to a E36 3.0L or 3.2L euro motor? Now that would be a trick since the E46 uses completely individual throttle bodies instead of the individual throttle bodies grouped in pairs on the E36. Date: Wed, 02 May 2001 10:37:00 EDT From: LoweSeaton@aol.com Subject: Re: [E36M3] Conforti chip question Tony, Jim Conforti himself has stated on this forum that NONE of his consumer chips or OBD-II flash programs have a redline higher than 7,000 rpm. However, like Seth I can rev to 7,200 rpm with my Euro HFM/JC chip. I've never had the standard JimC chip so I can't vouch for its rev limit. Hopefully somebody with the standard JimC chip will post their findings. Personally, I think the Jim Conforti chip is superior to everything else for the '95. I have a $300 Dinan chip sitting in my drawer as a result. :-) Lowell Seaton '95 M3 Dallas, Texas

Except my fan blower would not come on... Thus, no AC, defrost, etc. I swapped out all the fuses, still no work. So, figuring I am having severe electrical problems I cancel my trip to BFR with the local PCA chapter this morning. Major bummer, as my car is sitting in its track trim. Fired it up this morning - everything works fine. What gives ? GMK '97 M3/4 (thank G-d for warrantygold.com !) PS I did wash the car over the weekend, including the engine compartment

#9. DIY Koni install (was Re: Preventative Suspension Maintenance) - from Eric.C.Dotson@travelers.com

Date: Wed, 2 May 2001 10:58:45 -0400 From: Eric.C.Dotson@travelers.com Subject: DIY Koni install (was Re: Preventative Suspension Maintenance) I did the Koni install on my car in January, and I didn't think it was such a big deal. The only special tools you need are a spring compressor and a special wrench to get the top strut nut off. Do yourself a favor and buy a pipe/strut cutter. I bought one from Pep Boys for $25, and it makes the job much easier. I thought the instructions from Koni were pretty good. I took a bunch of pictures with the idea that I would do a website, but that hasn't materialized. I could scan some and email them if anyone's interested. Eric 95 M3 00 Passat Wagon Jonathan wrote: "The installation for a DIY seems a bit daunting. Drilling out old struts? Replacing just parts? Or does Koni have a complete kit yet? Am I thinking of the double adjustables? Please shed some light on this for me, as this seems like a viable alternative."

#10. front tires - 225/45 or 235/40? - from Jonathan Evans

Date: Wed, 2 May 2001 11:10:38 -0400 From: "Jonathan Evans" <jonathanevans@hotmail.com> Subject: front tires - 225/45 or 235/40? Allrighty, I think I'll go back to the 96' and above standard staggered tire sizes on my 95 with the staggered LTW wheel setup. I'm wondering if the centimeter less width is going to give me more understeer. I'm hoping it will give a tighter turn in feel on the other hand. The car is stock otherwise. Comments? I seem to be the only one running 235/40 on the front with 245/40 on the back with stock BMW staggered wheels. Previous owner changed up the setup, not sure why. Can't wait for 4 tires of the same brand and model. (Re730) Thanks Jonathan 95 m3
