Considering the investment you have in your car, wouldn't you want to minimize the damage of a fire by using a Halon extinguisher? I was convinced to do so with my 928, when it was explained to me how damaging a regular extinguisher could be. Did I miss something? The fire extinguisher is to put out fires on people not machinery. Anyone that keeps a car after a fire is a fool. I'd be seriously pissed at anyone who put a fire out in my car before it was totalled. I look at the money put into my car in roughly the same way that I would look at throwing it out the window. #9. Fire Extinguisher mount and where to buy - from Bora Akyol

Date: Thu, 10 May 2001 22:49:22 -0700 From: Bora Akyol <akyol@akyol.org> Subject: Fire Extinguisher mount and where to buy Hi I have just signed up for a track event and I need to get a fire extinguisher mounted to somewhere within easy reach of the driver (me). I definitely do not want to drill a hole if I don't want to. Any help in where I can mount this (maybe under the driver's legs) and where to buy the necessary stuff including the extinguisher will be appreciated. Anyone in the bay area willing to recommend a place. Thanks Bora

Very impressed by the bite and total absence of fading even after doing 30-40 km sessions with absolutely maxed out tempo on the track. But after one days track meet of 150 km driving, half the front pads where used up and the discs (euro floating) where deeply grooved :-( I did put the pads on some weeks earlier with freshly refursbished rotors and did street driving with them prior to the meet. Ok, so it's a heavy car and the speed is high but I do brake "the right way", hard and short and not staying on the brake pedal. What can I do?????? Aaaaarggghhhh! /Magnus Thomé
