The beauty of 3 piece rims is that if you do manage to bend one of the rim halves, replacing just the bent rim half isn't a problem. Not too much more than fixing the bend either. I've had to do that with one of my Fikse's. Andrej '97 M3

There are so many available that I really don't want to pay for one plus ship it. If anyone has one, please let me know. I also have 2 of these in 255/17 if anyone could use them. One is still 'ok' and the other one is very, very good. Would trade for a pair of 'ok' 245s or outright sale for $100 for both tires. Jim

This was first time (along with the illuminated shift knob and clear corners/sidemarkers), that I've tinkered around with the car. The included instructions were pretty good as has been pointed out by many people. I also used this link to clarify any of the vagueness: http://www.unofficialbmw.com/e36/alarm/e36_alarm_install_tips_mike.html (Thanks to Mike Frank) IMO, it's an install you can do yourself if you can follow instructions, not lose screws, contort yourself into very uncomfortable positions (there's not much space for your body under the dash), and squint for hours looking for some damn connector that's supposed to look like the one in the picture:). Nick Alexander Imports generally has the lowest of prices (cost + 20%)... 1.800.800.NICK. I bought mine (along with the other parts) from Brecht BMW because I already had a gift certificate there... they (Darrin) was willing to match prices with Nick Alexander. I paid about $286 for it... it does lack some of the goodies like Peter said, but it's an easy install and it seems to be a quality system. Pre-wired is nice... --- joe ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mel Silva" <mel.silva@pdq.net> To: "E36M3" <e36m3@bmw-m.net> Sent: Friday, May 11, 2001 7:14 PM Subject: [E36M3] BMW Security system? > Date: Fri, 11 May 2001 19:05:31 -0500 > From: "Mel Silva" <mel.silva@pdq.net> > Subject: BMW Security system? > > I want to add the the BMW Remote Keyless Entry Security and Alarm System to > my '97, but I don't want to pay MSRP for the unit. Okay I've figured out what I want so here is the deal: I have a set of four 17x8.5" Fikse FM5's Race anodized black in good condition that I want to trade for Fikse FM10's in the same size or BBS RC's in 17" or 18". If anyone has these wheels and is interested in a trade plase let me know. If a trade doesn't happen then I will probably sell the FM5's outright if I get a good enough offer. Thanks for the BW!. Rob
