#1. Trans & Diff Fluids - from kmcleaster@iquest.net
Top
Date: Mon, 14 May 2001 11:49:45 est From: kmcleaster@iquest.net Subject: Trans & Diff Fluids I'm having trouble finding consensus on Transmission and Differential fluids for my 95 M3. I've about decided on Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF for the transmission but for the differential, I'm still a bit puzzled. I was thinking of using Mobilube SHC 75W90. Its GL-5 and hypoid friendly, but it doesn't specifically say its cool for limited slip diffs. I'm trying to avoid BMW and Redline. What do you recommend? Kevin McLeaster '95 M3 Arctic Silver

#3. [E36M3] Sockets in the Exhaust - from RogRacer@aol.com

Date: Mon, 14 May 2001 13:04:26 EDT From: RogRacer@aol.com Subject: [E36M3] Sockets in the Exhaust Anyone else notice, in the latest Roundel, that putting a (maybe) 20 mm socket vise-gripped into the stock exhaust "increased mid-range torque significantly" in their Dynapack dyno test article. Seemed as though the dyno operator knew this would happen. Does AA/Supersprint/UUC offer a welded-in socket as an upgrade option? Makes you wonder what happens when the exhaust is "opened up"...does midrange suffer? The few published dyno curves seem to indicate that this does NOT happen, but it does make you wonder what is going on...... Roger RogRacer@aol.com '95 M3, Stock exhaust...no sockets

#4. looking for an E36 coupe passnger side door window motor - from Dave Spragg

Date: Mon, 14 May 2001 14:15:56 -0400 From: "Dave Spragg" <dspragg@mediaone.net> Subject: looking for an E36 coupe passnger side door window motor Anyone gut some doors and remove windows to create a race car? I have a track/street 318is with a supercharged 95 M3 motor and the tabs have worn off the motor so the system things it's not turning and keeps shutting off the window motor juice. So, instead of the window going to when you press and hod the button or press hard (double click ;) ) it just goes down an inch or so each time you press it. It's all one unit and the thing is not only expensive but also a PITA to replace since it's screwed in from the outside of the door in... yech. Not too mention that there is no manual deal you can do with a screw driver to raise or lower a faulty window. If you need it down you could take it totally off the clips (don't do if you have tint) and slide it down but that's it. I think Han's and Franz took a long, long lunch hour the day they designed these windows and doors. Anywho, I am looking for a charity or cheap window motor from someone's gutted race car. In Boston area preferrably. Dave Spragg dave@spragg.com Natick, MA 99 M3 Sharked 92 330is Sharked and Supercharged

The block was tested on a '95 shortly after it was developed. There appears to be some differences on some number of cars. I'm guessing that JTD has it figured out by this time. Give them a call.
