Date: 18 May 2001 12:39:45 CDT From: Barrett Nicholas <barrett.nicholas@usa.net> Subject: e36 rear sun screen? I remember a list of build codes John Firestone posted a few years ago (http://www.unofficialbmw.com/e36/misc/e36_build_codes.html) that lists an option # 415, Mechanical rear sun screen (limo). Has anyone ever seen this and could share what it's like? It's starting to get hot again here in Houston, so I'm looking into ways to cool things down. And I'm correct in my translation that limo = sedan, right? tia, Barrett ____________________________________________________________________ Get free email and a permanent address at http://www.netaddress.com/?N=1 ************************************************************* List Commands UNSUBSCRIBE - (in subject line) unsubscribes you from the mailing list. I will admit that I don't know why bigger brakes stop faster if all brakes under consideration can lock the wheels at any time. Maybe in the real world bigger brakes give better initial bite than the smaller ones and all the benefit is in the first 0.2 seconds (braking is a transient function, not steady state). Which was that _most_ people do NOT need more than stock M3 brakes, especially for _stock_ driving. But when you have a friggin turbo charger that throws you into your seat you better have something that can stop you! I know, that when I got in his car I was scrambling to strap myself in w/the harnesses before he demonstrated the car's 0->60+->0 abilities :) Also if larger brakes did not provide some sort of benefit we would all have E30 318 brakes on our cars :) S --- Jeff Thompson <jthompson@telco.com> wrote: > I don't doubt Jim's experience, but I do doubt the worth of several > thousand $$$ for a less than 5% increase in stopping power from > 80mph **for people like me who don't track our cars***. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
