All I have is an intake. His NSX had an exhaust, huge wheels, lowered, etc... This was from about 60 to 130mph. Around corners, it's the driver... Two hours per axle? Sheesh! on 6/6/01 9:33 PM, "Kevin M. Gregg" <kevingregg@home.com> wrote: > MODIC? What's that? (Did I mention that I've owned a BMW for only 7 > weeks?) It was not mentioned by the Tate guy. MODIC = Mobile Diagnostic Computer. Or possibly something in German with waaaaay more syllables. An expensive and proprietary electronic tool that BMW dealers use to access and fiddle with the car's onboard electronics. It also has an extremely effective vacuum pump thqt can just suck the money out of an owner's wallet... Technically, to do a complete brake fluid flush you have to use the MODIC to cycle the ABS pump and get all the old fluid out of its various chambers and valves. In practice this doesn't seem to matter much. Those of us who do our own brake work will typically go out and stomp on the brakes hard enough to get the ABS working and circulate the fluid, then bleed again. Nothing to lose sleep over. #5. M3 can beat an NSX - from Ed Tang

What mods can I do to my car to give me an edge over my brother? NSX is bone stock. Very babied, 30k miles. No mods. Any suggestions for good mods that I can get done before the 4th of July? New springs and shocks? I don't have time for a supercharger install. Please help. Need to make sure M3 comes out on top." Are you guys drag racing or track driving? If it's a drag race you might be on par. NSX 1/4 mile times tend to be quicker in the magazines than they really are. On the track, it really depends on you. I've run with the NSX club and it wasn't hard keeping up or staying ahead of a stock NSX. It all depends on the driver. I can't help you with the driving part. Mods. Not necessary. Besides, I think it would make more sense if you can beat his bone stock car in a bone stock M3. Car and Driver did a best handling car regardless of price issue a few years ago. The M3 won. If you look at the numbers, I think the NSX only beat the M3 on the track by 0.5 sec. That's nothing if you're a better driver. You can reuse the old bolts as long as you Locktite them. Not that new ones cost much. Good plan on the E46 RSMs. > But as far as the strut mounts, I am not > sure if replacement is necessary. You know, it's a funny thing considering the notoriously consumable RSMs, but I never hear of front strut bearing plates wearing out. Anyone? Replacing them adds maybe $200 to your project, so I wouldn't do it unless you need to. Neil 96 M3

They match your description except mine are light grey and I elected to pass on the Motorsport stripes. They had a website (www.seatsavers.com) that appears to have expired. Great fit, quality and price ($99/set of 2). I would be surprised if they are out of business. Good luck! #10. Car Lift - from Kris Welhart

Date: Thu, 7 Jun 2001 11:04:23 -0500 From: "Kris Welhart" <kris.welhart@cyou.com> Subject: Car Lift Morning, I am in the market for car lift to be placed in a warehouse that is currently being built (height is not an issue). The lift will not be for commercial use, it will be "friends and family" only. I plan to begin club racing in the next couple years and would like a better way to work on the car myself to save money. (yes, that is practice for justifying the purchase since it is very apparent, shhhhhh). I have = been looking at 2 post asymmetrical lifts by rotary, eagle etc. and I have not been able to find any cheaper alternatives. Does anyone have any experience or know of any lifts out there that have a high weight capacity and also leave the wheels and tires free spinning. The overall price of the lift is not as terrifying as getting it off the trailer = and installing the lift. I do not have access to a fork lift, etc. I have seen some scissor type models but they do not seem to have a lift = height of over 20" and I would like to have a lift height of at least 40". Any and all input for options or experience is greatly appreciated. =20 Kris Welhart can't get over life without a toy box..... =20
