On those funny OBI-II cars with FOUR sensors (or so I'm told... gasp!) it could be a totally different story. Anyway... The crow's foot just made it very easy since you could position a ratchet on it in any of several angles to get leverage on the thing. I'm sure it could be done with regular tools in a pinch. BTW, I asked the guy at the tools counter for a O2 sensor adapter without mentioning what kind of car or anything and got the crows foot. I guess they're all the same size 'cause it fit perfectly. -- Ron Katona '95 M3 - BSP #06 Mel Silva wrote: > I don't need to do this today, but... If you are really concerned about weight distribution, you would want to corner weight the car, which is normally done with threaded adjustable coil-overs to get the side-side number even. #5. Bilstein bumpstops - from John Bergstrom
Top
Date: Fri, 15 Jun 2001 06:35:42 -0700 (PDT) From: John Bergstrom <john0990@yahoo.com> Subject: Bilstein bumpstops I've seen and felt the bumpstops - my friend Lowell trimmed his. They are medium-soft rubber all the way. Compressible with your fingers, but not by much. I would have expected them to have a noticeable effect on the ride of the car if the car was riding on them, but I am still convinced that there was very little difference in the quality of the ride between my car (untrimmed Bilstein / H&R 29910) and Lowell's (trimmed Bilstein / Dinan springs). The rear bumpstops are external and made of a similar, slightly harder rubber. >>>>As for riding on the untrimmed bumpstops, while I haven't opened mine up yet those that I have experience with on other Bilsteins consist of a compressible foam. So riding on the initial portion of the bumpstop is not like having a solid suspension, only one with a different (i.e. stiffer) spring rate. Obviously if you compress the bumpstop far enough it will reach a point where it will compress no further but that should be (my guess) and inch or better in travel. If you have the H&R race springs you may well have the suspension effectively bottomed out but I wouldn't really know until I see how the bumpstops are actually constructed.<<<< __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? #6. Portable Canopy/Sunshade - from Riley, Scott

Date: Fri, 15 Jun 2001 09:24:55 -0500 From: "Riley, Scott" <SRiley@CardinalCapital.com> Subject: Portable Canopy/Sunshade Does anyone know of a good source for a portable canopy/sunshade? Given that I live in Texas where the summers are a little hot and some of the tracks in the area don't provide for trackside garages, etc., I need a canopy/sunshade that I can take to track events. My '99 coupe is black/black and tends to get hot very quick. Effectively, all I need are four poles that can be anchored somehow and a canopy across the top that is at least as large as my car. Thanks for the help, Scott Riley '99 M3 (come join me for burgers on my hood!)

#10. '97 [E36] [M3] Sumitomo HTRZII tires for sale - from George M. Kofman

Date: Fri, 15 Jun 2001 12:14:21 -0500 From: "George M. Kofman" <sdg2@execpc.com> Subject: '97 [E36] [M3] Sumitomo HTRZII tires for sale I just spoke with my Scott Litzke (BMW service advisor) at Concours Motors in Milwaukee and he has the following 4 tires for sale: (2) 225/45x17 and (2) 245/40x17 Sumimoto HTRZII. Almost *brand new*. Came off a '97 M3 sedan. The tires are at Concours Motors - call 414-290-1720 and talk to Scott Litzke. The price is very reasonable $200 for all 4. One third of the price Tirerack wants for the same tire. I checked out the tirerack.com and it appears to be an excellent tire. The price is right - burn them on the track or run them on the street. If you know of someone who wants these, please spread the word. Enjoy ! GMK '97 M3/4 w/ Yokohama AVS Sport, new enough not to need replacement anytime soon ;-) PS Disclaimer - I have to financial interest in this. I know Scott Litzke and he game me the right of first refusal on these... I happened to have more tires than cars thus perhaps someone else can benefit from this.
