Removing hood foam, is going to do zip for increasing performance, saving weight, etc. If you want to save the weight of hood foam eat one less cheese burger at lunch today ;)

Alignments? Sorry... can't answer that question (I am in MD). I have a more general question though... will your typical Exxon/Mobil/Shell/etc gas station (with complete auto repair capability) be unable to properly mount/balance a 17 inch tire on an M3? An Exxon station that is walking distance from my house has done this type of work on other vehicles for me. And I am in need of two rear tires for my car. Thanks. Mark, I chose 2 JBL 10s, Put them in a removable Box (not sealed) and drilled the amp into the back of it. So if I ever need to put the seats down and use the trunk I can just unplug. I was told many times that BMW trunks are sealed really well, and that the majority of the bass will not enter the cabin. A couple people mentioned I should drill into the deck and create ports. Luckily I have a head unit that I can change the frequency and power into that amp. I leave it on the next to lowest setting and have more bass than I'll ever need. I know I want a sealed box setup and either 1 or 2 8's or 10's. My budget is around $200 JUST for the subs (gonna build my own box). Thanks guys. For example, I know Crutchfield will send the appropriate harness when you purchase a head unit from them. I'm sure a car stereo shop will do the same. The type of harness you need depends on the brand of head unit you purchase. If you already bought the head unit, I would call up crutchfield as I'm sure they can sell you the appropriate harness. #7. Dinan Stage 2 and tire pressures - from Ken Green

Date: Thu, 12 Jul 2001 11:34:07 -0700 From: Ken Green <kgreen@csulb.edu> Subject: Dinan Stage 2 and tire pressures I just had a Dinan stage 2 setup installed in my 95 M3. When cornering, it feels like the car needs to settle before it grips, making the corner a two-step enterprise rather than a smooth unitary one. In the past when I have had this sensation, raising the tire pressures has helped. Dinan's recommendation is 32 front and 30 rear. Is this too low? (And why is it higher in front, as opposed to BMW's specs?) What has been the experience of list members? (Sorry if this has been covered before -- I've been "away.") Thanks in advance. Ken Green

After seeing a good tire shop struggle with mounting 245/40/17 tires on my Fikse's and not scratch them, I don't know that I would trust any 'ole gas station to do the work and not damage my rims. Heard too many horror stories, and I like the shop I deal with now (shameless plug from satisfied customer): Radial Tire Co. It's down in Silver Spring, not too terribly close to you but one of the better shops in the DC metro area. Andrej '97 M3

Are these adjustable shocks? What was the Dinan recommended settings? BTW, that 32psi front tire pressure sounds way too low to me. The 2-lb differential is fine, but the average I always hear for modified '95's on street tires is around 35fr/33rr cold. That's what I usually run. -p ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This message was sent using HiSpeed Technologies Webmail. http://www.hispeed.com
