I measured A and C for the stock bar, calculated the angle in my spreadsheet, then used that angle to derive the other arm length in all further calculations. > The URL you show is exactly the picture in the book, > and show much more clearly what A, B, and C are. on 7/13/01 8:28 PM, Chris Teague at cteague@home.com added: > One more thing. Hey - any of you Eibach 26mm front bar owners out there want to do the measurements? Enquiring minds... Neil 96 M3

Thanks for the info, I'm going to add that to the list I'm compiling and post everything this week. I received my BMWCCA Club Racing packet this week and they have a few additional things to watch for on the E36M3 that they've seen happen on heavily used race cars (front control arms, rear control arms, etc.). Good luck with the repairs. Now you have me paranoid about that too, I'm looking at every part of my car and listening to every sound with suspicion now. I don't know about other areas of the country, but I can relate to your bad parking lots here in Pittsburgh. It is so hard to find pavement at all, let alone pavement without large potholes, cracks, manhole covers, etc. Maybe some of you CA folks could send some excess smooth pavement to us cone junkies here on the east coast? Ha! Who said we have such smooth surfaces? There is a huge hump that runs diagonally across 3Com park in SF that a few newbie course designers have used to place some pretty inopportune parts of the course. They always warn those of us with very low, stiff cars... :-( This rear shock tower issue has popped up on a few cars out here. Peter Mottaz, one of the fastest autocrossers out here, has cracked both shock towers in seperate occasions. He runs a G Stock 325is with Konis set to full stiff. He suspected that it wasnt the jars as much as it was the added weighht of a trailer in the rear all the time. One thing to note -- this repair is sometimes covered by insurance. Pete's was. They have to chop off the top of the tower an weld a new one on. Very pricey. - peterg BSP M3 (currently eating '99 'Vette dust... and none too happy about it) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This message was sent using HiSpeed Technologies Webmail. http://www.hispeed.com

Well, according to my Service & Warranty Manual, replacing the microfilter is part of Inspection I. I doubt it's different for your '97, but you should check your manual to be sure (so, in other words, the short, sarcastic answer to your question is RTFM. And maybe your dealer should too.)
