Please contact me privately. >Require: >5 speed >Average to Low miles Why bother with a low mileage car for a club racer, he is going to need a rebuild anyway, he may as well get a higher mileage car cheaper and use the excess money. Also, IMHO, some higher mileage cars are much better maintained than lower mileage cars. The spring plates and pads are what sit on top of the spring. Keep looking, they're definitely on the ETK. #6. Starting from a dead stop - from DiVincenti, A.J.

Things didn't feel right. I then opened up the windows and heard this weird sound that was more or less like a dirt bike when they blip the throttle in a garbage can or something muffled. It was pretty loud. If it was the flywheel, you wouldn't really notice anything different except that it's not as easy to start from a dead stop in first gear smoothly. I'm not talking about aggressively getting up and going, but rather I'm talking about just a nice slow acceleration. While feathering the clutch to slowly move, it will feel as if the clutch suddenly grabs a bit more so you get this herky-jerky movement. This is probably the only symptom aside from the noise since the two masses are fixed to each other....there's just some friction material in between that slows a giving fixed angular displacement before the two masses are positively engaged. >>>>> My car does this, but only when I first start to drive it after it has sat for awhile like overnight. After about 5 minutes of driving it's much smoother from a dead stop. Anybody have any ideas on whats going on AJ

#8. [E36M3] dim speedometer needle light? - from Jeff_Wingstrom@jackmorton.com

Date: Sat, 21 Jul 2001 09:04:24 -0500 From: Jeff_Wingstrom@jackmorton.com Subject: [E36M3] dim speedometer needle light? Here's kind of a weird one.. in the nighttime, with the dashboard lights on, only about half of my speedometer needle is lit. You can see the light source in the hub of the needle, but around halfway to the end of the needle, it goes totally dim making it kind of hard to see my speed. Has anyone ever had this problem? Any idea what could cause it? -Jeff stock '97 M3

This might be a stupid question, but have you tried turning up the dash illumination? The one thing I liked about the Lexus LS430 I rented a while back was the LED speedo needle. Pretty cool. I mean, black was black, white was white, and the red needle was red.
