Ah...if that's your use of fogs, then perhaps a better solution would be to retrofit HIDs in eurolamps. Well...maybe into the US spec lamps so you can get more scatter :) I remember driving on the Garden State Parkway many, many times at night and just seeing the road paint, etc. This was with US spec lamps and stock euro ellipsoids. Then I retrofit HID. Whoa...I saw countless Bambis and family playing along side the road! Freaked me out the first time seeing how close they really are sometimes!!!! How does the Phoenix Microlite mod compare to the do it yourself retrofit kit that Jim Powell & UUC Motorwerks (I will not call UUC Motorwerks for technical assistance on the HID conversion) outlined on their respective websites? I have a set of Euro headlamps that I would like to install with Xenon HIDs. I don't mind spending the $$$ for a quality install.

There is a marked difference between the tach needle and the speedo needle. Are there 2 bulbs in there or something? I drove my dad's Lexux ES300 the other day, and it has a really crisp dash illumination like you mentioned.. which got me to thinking (uh oh!) that I kind of like the semi washed-out look on the M3 dash, because it's not too distracting. Yes, the Lexus instruments are really easy to read, but they're so defined and crisp that I found them kind of distracting while driving.. -Jeff This might be a stupid question, but have you tried turning up the dash illumination? The one thing I liked about the Lexus LS430 I rented a while back was the LED speedo needle. Pretty cool. I mean, black was black, white was white, and the red needle was red. #8. Scratches - from enf@iglou.com

Date: Mon, 23 Jul 2001 12:52:48 -0400 From: <enf@iglou.com> Subject: Scratches Hello all, Just came across three sets of scratches on the passenger side door. Not sure what could have done it or when it happened. Anyway, it still makes me sick. A couple of places are taken down to the metal, the others "may" be able to be buffed out. They are about and inch in diameter spaced 4 inches apart. Looks as if a scrub may have scraped against it without sliding across the whole door. I was wondering what the list would advise as the best method of dealing it without painting the entire door. Thanks. Ed Frank 97 M3/4 XBrace
