#1. hyperactive turn signal - from Drew Bamford

Date: Wed, 25 Jul 2001 16:37:24 From: "Drew Bamford" <drewbam@hotmail.com> Subject: hyperactive turn signal My M3 started to develop some annoying habits last week. Along with the dreaded clutch squeak, he seems to be afflicted with a hyperactive turn signal condition. The symptom is that my left turn signal blinks very rapidly. The "check control" gizmo says everything's OK, so I assume that all of my bulbs are alright. Any ideas? drew | 98M3 Limo _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp

Laguna Seca looks and feels like Laguna Seca.>> I've heard a lot about the graphics, but how about the physics? I've seen a few reports that 1) you can't spin other cars by hitting them, and 2) there's no car-damage in the game. Also heard the AI is really dumb, the opponents travel in packs.. I'm still dying to try the game though. I'm still a Sports Car GT addict, dates from 1999 and is still eerie it seems so real.. anyone else play this one? Logitech wheel/pedals required for best effect, of course. It's as close as I've gotten to driving on a real track and probably as close as I'll get in the near future.. my '97's going out of warranty next month.. :0 -Jeff '97 M3

Date: Wed, 25 Jul 2001 13:10:44 -0500 From: "Mel Silva" <mel.silva@pdq.net> Subject: RE: [E36M3] OT: trailer transporters I used a company called "The car carrier" to transport my OT Mustang from SF to Houston. I don't have the number handy, I heard about them through Mayflower. It arrived dirty but safely. They did a meticulous data sheet on the car noting mileage and any exterior marks or blemishes to the finish or tires and wheels. The car arrived in the same condition. I did notice that the exhaust fasteners had come loose somehow, but this car was famous for that before it was transported. Mel > -----Original Message----- > From: Jay L. The roads are boring with little scenery and it takes about 3 days with 12 to 14 hour stints to do it. My a$$ was sore from sitting in the high bolstered, firm road racing seats I had in my car. Going through Colorado was much more fun. Mel > -----Original Message----- > From: Andrew E. I haven't take apart the turn signals on my M3, but from all other cars I have worked on, corrosion at the signal ground has been the culprit. good luck, Mel > -----Original Message----- > From: Drew Bamford [mailto:drewbam@hotmail.com] > Sent: Wednesday, July 25, 2001 11:52 AM > To: E36M3 > Subject: [E36M3] hyperactive turn signal > > > Date: Wed, 25 Jul 2001 16:37:24 > From: "Drew Bamford" <drewbam@hotmail.com> > Subject: hyperactive turn signal > > My M3 started to develop some annoying habits last week. #7. Fuel Gauge Tango Uniform - from Darling Christopher Maj AMC/CEXR
Top
Date: Wed, 25 Jul 2001 13:18:38 -0500 From: Darling Christopher Maj AMC/CEXR <chris.darling@scott.af.mil> Subject: Fuel Gauge Tango Uniform I petition the collective wisdom of the group. It appears the fuel gauge in my 95 M3 (87K miles) is shot. For days after every fill-up (in last 2 months) the gauge will alternate with showing either completely empty (with light on) or completely full. And the needle won't move a significant amount as fuel is burned. Once the tank gets about half empty (based upon mileage traveled since fill up) the gauge will suddenly seem to come to life again and function correctly until the rest of the tank is empty. Any ideas? What might be wrong? Does this sound like an electrical problem or mechanical one? What kind of repair bill am I facing? Any advice would be appreciated! ------------------------------------ end Cod Major Chris Darling HQ AMC/CEXR DSN 779-0698, Comm (618) 229-0698

Date: Wed, 25 Jul 2001 13:28:36 -0500 From: "Mel Silva" <mel.silva@pdq.net> Subject: RE: [E36M3] Re: GT3 If the physics in GT3 are anything like GT2 and GT, then they are appropriately accurate. I have GT2 and GT and have marveled at the accuracy of the physical model. Of course they do limit things like roll-overs, car damage, and being able to pull a Jeff Gordon, and tap the rear quarter of your opponents and make them spin off. While I was still in CA, the GT2 team contacted the Norcal Shelby Club that I also affiliate myself with, to get some of the clubs more "remarkable" cars out to do some testing at Laguna Seca. They had a very sophisticated accelerometer, G-force accumulator systems that they used to "record" an electronic model of the handling characteristics of several cars. The GT350, GT500, GT40, Shelby Cobra, among a few others that are available in GT2 "are" electronic models of club member cars, as well as the electronic model of Laguna Seca. If you check the credits electronically or on page 41 of the User Manual, you will find the names of several Norcal Shelby Club members. Bottom line, I'm sure it's worth the $50, but YMMV.
