I had the same problem on my E34. Since the E34 and E36 use the same flasher, I was able to swap them to test it and, sure enough, the problem went away. The flasher is one of those modules in the fuse box. Check Bentley's to determine which one it is. -rb >Date: Wed, 25 Jul 2001 16:37:24 >From: "Drew Bamford" <drewbam@hotmail.com> >Subject: hyperactive turn signal > >My M3 started to develop some annoying habits last week. #5. Rear Shock Tower Replacement - from Ron Katona
Top
Date: Thu, 26 Jul 2001 14:32:56 -0400 From: "Ron Katona" <rkatona@bellatlantic.net> Subject: Rear Shock Tower Replacement Had the rear shock tower repaired today at Kearney's Racing in Lanham, MD. The final cost was $15.35 for the part (with CCA discount) and $165 for labor. The deal here is that there are two types of repair that can be made on this: factory fresh, or cheap. If you want factory fresh, take it to the dealer or good body shop and fork over probably $500-$1000. If you want the $165 job, you have to put up with the non-factory looking lap joint and weld, the off color paint that doesn't match the rest of the car, and other absolutely non-essential things that won't be seen once you put the carpet back in place. I really lucked out here knowing a good honest welder who knows my budget. Basically, he cut out around the cracked area and then welded in the replacement part like a cap over the existing shock tower. Watching someone take a sawzall and a welder to the interior of your M3 is not for the faint of heart, BTW! There is some prep work like stripping the paint and the very stubborn undercoating from the areas to be cut and welded. Afterwards, primer and paint is reapplied over the shock tower and undercoating is sprayed in the wheel well. New gaskets for the shock mount and you're on your way. -- Ron Katona '95 M3 BSP #06 - back in action this weekend!

#6. Need help with oil cooler install - from Scott Chan

Date: Thu, 26 Jul 2001 11:33:43 -0700 From: Scott Chan <scottch@juniper.net> Subject: Need help with oil cooler install I have acquired the Euro oil cooler parts, and have read the archived correspondence about fitting it to a stock 95 M3 US engine. There seem to be two issues which prevent this from being a direct bolt-on -- can experienced owners verify and comment, please ? (reply direct to scottch@juniper.net as well as list) 1) Need to drill and tap one port (enlarge from M12 to M14x1.5) for single VANOS. I am also going to drill and tap a 1/8NPT port for a mechanical oil pressure gauge while I'm in there. 2) Need to fabricate two brackets -- one "L" for the passenger end of the cooler, and one "C" or "U" shaped for the driver's end of the cooler to clip into existing radiator slots. The "C" would bolt onto the existing tab on the cooler, and the "L" would replace the plastic bolt-on one. BTW the cooler is PN 17212244084, not ...083 Does anybody have pre-made brackets for sale, or can someone send/fax me drawings for the brackets? Also, does anybody have any suggestions for machine shops near Mtn View, CA which could drill/tap/hack/bend this stuff on a reasonable time frame and price? Thanks, Scott Chan

If anyone could give me the part number for the 95 M3 rear shocks, it would be wonderful. Also anyone have a color code handy for the springs? I used to until the microsoft doom destroyed all the data on my puter. thanks Mike
