Nevermind the question about the p/n. I just went through my parts box again and realized which piece it was he was referring to. I forgot about the actual reinforcement plates that were hidden under something in my box 'o goodies, so I didn't see them on my first check this morning. I'm not too sure why it wasn't recommended to use these on the initial install of the suspension & plates. As in, could I use a spare set of non-M3 E36 strut housing for Koni butchering and than install them either on my M3 or my wife's 328i? TIA, alex f '95 M3

That's why the Bilstein coilover suspension kits will only work for the standard E36s and not the M3. I'd go with a MP3 head unit nowadays Front speakers: a/d/s/ 325.is2 Comments: Good sound quality, warm tweeters, not harsh to make your ears bleed like MBQuarts Rear speakers: no rear fill...JL Audio stealthboxes. Good bass response. Not boomy. On the expensive side. Adapter plates can be made for far less. Amp: a/d/s/ 840.2 Good, clean, powerful amp. After all was said and done and I spent $1500, the whole system sounds good. But the funny thing is after I did it all, I rarely use it. My other audio components like the AA gen III exhaust usually provide miles and miles worth of tunes =) Chester ===== __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? #7. Airbag light mystery - from Andrew E. Kalman
Top
Date: Thu, 15 Nov 2001 10:34:47 -0700 From: "Andrew E. Kalman" <aek@pumpkininc.com> Subject: Airbag light mystery Hi All. I removed the airbags out of my race-only LWT some time ago.I also pulled the airbag light out of the instrument cluster, and put black tape over the hole. At Laguna Seca, I thought I would see the airbag light come on and off as I went through Turn 6, but I figured I was just hallucinating. Now that I pulled the rear seats out of my car and connected the airbag sensor harness ground strap to ground, the light shines brightly when the car is running. ???? Is there another, hidden lamp in the cluster that is sort of an extra-special-because-of-BMW-NA-lawyers lamp that lights up even if the main lamp has been removed? -- ______________________________________ Andrew E. I'd say that >if nobody else writes back about it, I could be "puffing the magic dragon" >again. (crude reference to Meet the Parents) Bingo! That makes sense. If you look into the place where the bulb goes, there's a molded "passage" that faces the actual symbol on the instrument cluster. It's molded at angle, and cannot be seen any other way. It could very well be an LED -- the symbol seems "redder" but dimmer than when it had a bulb in it. So, perhaps the simplest thing is for me to put a 1kOhm resister where the bulb was ... Thanks! -- ______________________________________ Andrew E. Kalman, Ph.D. aek@pumpkininc.com
