The service was great, I ordered the parts and they were shipped out the same day. They have PF 97 (for track)as well. I have no affiliation with them but just wanted to put this information out for anyone of you buying or will be buying brake pads. =20 Ahmad 97 M3 Lux. Coupe

My 1995 M3 3.0l currently has about 98k and when we did a dyno day for the San Diego Chapter last year (I've only driven ~6k miles since), my bone-stock motor put down 212hp (and IIRC, ~200tq). Steve, did you go to The Dyno Shop in Santee? Great guys down there. Patrick Sarne San Diego Chapter 1995 M3

Date: Fri, 16 Nov 2001 10:26:51 -0600 (CST) From: Sean Dowd <m3@dowds.net> Subject: Patch or Replace Looks like I've picked up a nail in my right rear tire. The tires are Bridgestone Potenza S-02 Pole Positions with about 5k miles. Anyone have any thoughts on which is worse: patching or replacing one side? I think the leak is pretty slow and the nail is still there (roofing nail between treads). The car is never tracked. Recommendations on tire shops in the North Dallas area? Grab a phone book and see if you can find an "America's Tire Company" or "Discount Tire" in your area. Drive your car down there and they'll plug AND patch it... FOR FREE!!!!! (free is good) ;) Good luck, Jonathan L. >From: Sean Dowd <m3@dowds.net> > >Looks like I've picked up a nail in my right rear tire. #6. Odd water temp behavior? - from Rob Verenna
Top
Date: Fri, 16 Nov 2001 12:43:31 -0500 From: "Rob Verenna" <rob@willraceforbeer.com> Subject: Odd water temp behavior? My water temperature has started acting funny and I was wondering if anyone had some ideas what might be causing it. The car is a '95 M3, 84k miles, 11/95 build date. I haven't changed the water pump or radiator, but they might be the later units as my CD Changer connector is actually the same as the '96 MY, not '95. Anyway, the symptoms are the gauge indicating the car running COLD. The car has always operated with the water gauge at the half-way mark. Takes about 5 minutes to warm up (depending on ambiant and how long since the last drive) but it always goes to the vertical and stays there dead calm. Now, the car runs at the 1/4 mark, or even below. There is also occasional slow fluctuation around the 1/4 point. This has happened every drive for the past few days. Sometimes after 15+ minutes (well past the normal warm-up period), the gauge will go to the normal half-way point and stay there as it always has in the past. I checked the coolant level this morning while the car was cold and it was right where the mark said it should be. The neck of the radiator does not really have any "crusties" around it; instead, it looks as if some has overflowed (dried drip paths running down the side). Performance is normal and even though it is November, air temperatures have been in the 60s here all week. Even so, I've had the car through the past few winters and while warm-up may take a few extra minutes, the "normal" indication on the water gauge was always the same. Anyone have an idea? Should I be ordering a new radiator (and water pump while I'm at it), or do I have a stuck thermostat? As you can tell, I'm not the most mechanically adept person - I just want to know if I need to get this done asap or not. #8. Minor Wing Damage -- How to Fix? - from Andrew E. Kalman

Date: Fri, 16 Nov 2001 08:11:51 -0700 From: "Andrew E. Kalman" <aek@pumpkininc.com> Subject: Minor Wing Damage -- How to Fix? Hi All. There's a small area (about the size of half a dime) on the trailing edge of my LWT's factory "big wing" where the paint has been chipped down through a few visible layers. What's the easiest way to fix this? I'm comfortable with the painting aspect, but I really have no clue as to how to do minor fiberglass repairs, nor do I know where to get the materials (prefer big National retailer). Thanks for any help or suggestions. -- ______________________________________ Andrew E. Kalman, Ph.D. aek@pumpkininc.com

Check the electrical connection to the temperature gauge sensor. The sensor is mounted in the front half of the cylinder head under the intake manifold. It is accessible without removing anything, just takes some wiggling of your arm (make sure the engine is cold!). There are actually two sensors mounted there; you want the rearmost sensor (the front one is for the DME). Just unplug the connector and plug it back on and see if the problem is fixed. If the problem persists, then replace your thermostat as it's probably stuck open. Nick '95 M3 turbo

The owner, John, has an excellent reputation on the rec.audio.car new group. They will be adding Focal components to their line in the coming weeks. Maybe you can call him and get some idea of timing and pricing. -Matt --- David Bauer <dbauer@blkbox.com> wrote: > Date: Fri, 16 Nov 2001 12:09:06 -0600 > From: David Bauer <dbauer@blkbox.com> > Subject: Re: Stereo Survey > > > With all these glowing reviews about Focal 130Ks I > think I am going to > check them out.
