I knew something was amiss when I dyno'ed the car before cams (but with EuroHFM/intake/chip/exhaust) and got an estimated 216 rwhp. You hear of '95s mostly floating around 225-235 with similar work. -p ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This message was sent using HiSpeed Technologies Webmail. http://www.hispeed.com

JimC chip that I received from a reputable supplier earlier this year (still fighting to get my money back from them, so they will remain anonymous for a tad bit longer). I brought the car to a dyno day after installing euroHFM kit sourced from that supplier and clocked 210 rwhp and 16:1 air:fuel ratios between 5-7K RPM! Best $60 I ever spent on the car. If it was not for that dyno trip I would still be driving around with a chip that runs the car dangerously lean. JimC's investigation revealed that the chip was incompetently programmed for 19# Ford injectors instead of stock '95 M3's 16.9? # ones (that is the chip would not have worked with 19# injectors either). Dyno days are good! alex f

So.......I am going to re-establish (yes, I did this two years ago--long story) the Sacramento Area M3 Owners Club, or whatever... Anybody who is interested in getting together in the near future to meet and discuss fun crap, events, etc. that we can do together please e-mail me at tgergen@yahoo.com (not the reply address I usually use!) and I will put together a list and start an e-mail, etc. so we can coordinate a date when we can meet. Hell, if nothing else, we can just hang out, discuss war stories, and have a bratwurst and a beer (I am hinting at Sudwerke..hehe). So, drop me a line....tgergen@yahoo.com I have some good ideas for "stuff" to do, bring yours! Lates. Heck, you can have your first meeting this Sat at Thunderhill. :-) Several of us list members are participating in the NASA 12-Hour Enduro: myself, Donna, Scott Smith, Scott Chan, and about 13 other drivers for the 4 cars we're running - 2 E30 M3s, an E36 M3, and an '02. Yes, it'll be cold & wet. Quit yer whining and come out & support local racers :-) Cheers, Jim Bassett - one of the '02 drivers 1998 M3/4 - hopefully will NOT be needed as a parts car :-) 1993 325is #44 KP - staying home, safe :-)

Date: Thu, 29 Nov 2001 21:24:21 From: "Ron Buchalski" <rbuchals@hotmail.com> Subject: Alldata DIY I pulled up the Alldata Page, and a little window popped up, telling me how I can get a single-vehicle subscription for $24.95/yr. At the bottom of the window is this little note: Note: Currently, information is available for Model Years 1982 to 2000. 2001 Model Year information is scheduled to be released in Mar/Apr of 2002. Unfortunately, information for Honda, Acura and BMW is not available to consumers through the ALLDATA DIY by request of the each manufacturer. What's the deal here? How do you get this info (other than having a friend like Mel Silva)? WTF! -rb _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp

#9. Re: [EWS Failure - from Sean Murphy

Date: Thu, 29 Nov 2001 16:17:05 -0800 From: "Sean Murphy" <sean_murphy@tankhq.com> Subject: Re: [EWS Failure I cut off a little postscript to the story since it was already so long. Like I said, but jumpering the 12V START signal from the ignition cylinder to the starter relay (all done at the big honkin' yellow EWS module connector) fixed the problem. So it definately was the EWS box. I ended up cracking open the EWS (Series II, for those who asked) to take a look see. Mostly solid state stuff, but there is 1 relay in there. It turns out that's how they deal with the 12V starter circuit, I assume everything else is 3-5V stuff. That relay gave up the ghost. So the rest of the EWS was working: picking up the key transponder, unlocking the DME, etc. But the fuel pump relay appears to be triggered from the starting circuit, so when the relay in the EWS didn't close, neither the fuel pump nor starter ran. (I think the fuel system changed slightly in 96+ cars.. at least the starting circuits are different) I did check all the keys when the problem first appeared. Then moved onto continuity of the EWS ring antenna at the ingition cylinder. Then to the sender module (which only exists for late 95 EWS II equipped cars. EWS III does away with it) And finally to the EWS box itself. The TSBs were somewhat helpful, but their repair path was just to replace the sender and module anyway..so at least this way I know why I was replacing it. spm > > -------------------- 3 -------------------- > Date: Wed, 28 Nov 2001 15:57:26 -0800 > From: Marc.S.Edwards@QuestDiagnostics.com > Subject: EWS problem from Sean Murphy > > Sean; > > What is the exact date of manufature of your 95M3?
