#3. RE: [E36M3] Praises of a Quaife differential - from Wayne Miller

Date: Fri, 30 Nov 2001 17:00:12 -0500 From: "Wayne Miller" <m3@waynemiller.com> Subject: RE: [E36M3] Praises of a Quaife differential The $2,400 was a rebuilt differential shipped to my door. I had to ship the core back. I was also changing the ring & pinion at the same time so that added a little to the expense. The Quaife unit itself was about $1,295 and I don't know what is involved in the installation into the diff. I paid to have my diff installed by a mechanic but watched how he did it and now see that I could have done it myself. I did end up helping a friend change his in my driveway. -Wayne -----Original Message----- From: Bob Lenarcik [mailto:lenarcik@pacbell.net] Sent: Friday, November 30, 2001 2:09 PM To: E36M3 Subject: RE: [E36M3] Praises of a Quaife differential Date: Fri, 30 Nov 2001 11:05:08 -0800 From: "Bob Lenarcik" <lenarcik@pacbell.net> Subject: RE: [E36M3] Praises of a Quaife differential Wayne, Is that the installed price? I'm looking at pricing for the diff and Quaife America's web site lists the price at $1295.00. Autotech lists it for $1595.00. - Bob L -----Original Message----- From: Wayne Miller [mailto:m3@waynemiller.com] Sent: Friday, November 30, 2001 7:19 AM To: E36M3 Subject: [E36M3] Praises of a Quaife differential <snip> Yes, it is a bit expensive (I paid about $2,400 with a 3.46 differential) <snip> -Wayne ************************************************************* List Commands UNSUBSCRIBE - (in subject line) unsubscribes you from the mailing list. #5. (Fwd) Books - from fesler@nsc.com

Date: Fri, 30 Nov 2001 14:36:05 -0800 From: fesler@nsc.com Subject: (Fwd) Books Hi folks, There were two driving related books I had on my "to buy" list. However, I seem to have lost the list. The were suggested here. I believe one was Going Faster (but I could be wrong). The other as I recall was about automotive tuning or racecar design. I would certainly apreciate either these or other similar titles. Thanks, Eric
