I can not verify the above info first hand but have no reason to doubt Turner's observation. Yet another testimony that E36 Bilstein Sports are poorly matched with E36 M3 cars (sounds more and more like Bilstein recycled regular E36 Sport shocks and threw them on the M3). As a reference point, the same H&R OE springs mated to Koni shocks lower the car between 0.5-1". This is according to TC Kline's web site and my personal observations. H&R Sports with Koni lower the car ~1.5" according to TC Kline. Just say no to E36M3 Bilsteins. > Any recommendations for minimal sacrifice on streetability with > modest improvement in performance stiffness? Yes. Does anyone know the procedure for fixing this. Thanks, M3ZOOMS *************************************************************** This message and any attachments is solely for the intended recipient. Matt and Michael, John Firestone (John Firestone <john.firestone@nord-com.net>) had managed to get this upgrade to work. Here is a quote from his email to the UUC digest: "If this guy has an E36, his OBC will require a second plug but no coding plug. Instead, he will probably need to run a couple wires to the RXD/TXD bus and code it with the BMW MoDiC or DIS tester. I will have some updated instructions for retrofitting an E36 OBC ready before Christmas. I just first need to finish another project with a tight deadline." I suggest you start pestering him to get the instructions ASAP ;-) good luck, alex f '95 M3

Our 8-button OBC is significantly lighter than that 16-button unit. I routinely beat 16-button cars around the track. I attribute this primarily to my OBC weight savings. drew | 98M3/4 -- Never waxed, to improve power to weight ratio. Also, is the > combination of the two really worth doing, compared to only > the favorite > piece? I would say the software definitely. It by itself has benefits both in daily driving and at the track (if you do that sort of thing :-)). The intake to a lesser extent has a benefit on the street. At the track, I noticed a increase of about 200-400 rpm on corner exit (back-to-back weekends at Laguna, without & with intake). The car does seem to breathe a bit easier even in daily driving, but I don't think it's as noticeable as on the track. But then there's that sound :-) I will have forgotten about it, and then open up the throttle to pass some LLB, and it instantly brings a smile to my face. Of course, you can get the software now, and then at a later date if you decide to, you can add the intake. I believe Josh at Eurosport is running a special on the Shark Injector, contact him via: http://www.eurosporthighperformance.com/ Hope that helps, Jim Bassett 1998 M3/4 - Sharked & Intaked 1993 325is #44 KP - Sharked, Intaked, & Cammed

I don't know what it is either, and haven't had an opportunity to discuss it with my mechanic. Just figured I'd let you know you weren't the only one experiencing this.
