They can be had from several retailers. I purchased mine from www.opmd.com. In my opinion, of all the bushings that you should go aftermarket and not OE with are the trailing arm bushings. The stock ones aren't very robust and worn bushings cause crazy toe changes that can be felt during braking, throttle roll on coming out of corners, straight line acceleration, just about everywhere. Others on this list have had great luck with Powerflex control arm bushings; I have not yet installed them. I'm told by several experienced track folks that the stock 96+ control arm bushings are soft, and that a definite improvement can be felt going to aftermarket poly bushings. Don't know of anyone that has gone to Powerflex subframe bushings. I would also love to hear thoughts in this regard. As for shock mounts, I went with E46 M3 mounts, which are more robust than our OE mounts. Cheap too, at $13 each from Pacific BMW. Of the aftermarket bushings, the Ground Control ones get high marks. They are pretty trick. BTW, the Powerflex bushings are softer than conventional hard, squeaky poly bushings but harder than stock; perfect for the enthusiast IMHO. #2. HeadLight Switch - from Paul Elliott

Date: Fri, 14 Dec 2001 22:23:39 -0500 From: "Paul Elliott" <pelliott@rcn.com> Subject: HeadLight Switch Can some of you OBDII M3 guys help me? When you turn your headlights on, over there on the left side where the headlight switch is, there are a few white 'glyphs' just above the switch...Do your white glyphs light up as indicator lights when you turn either your parking or headlights on? Tonight, I had my EGT gauge installed... And, above my headlamp switch now, it is dark...And it very well may have always been dark...But for some peculiar reason, I seem to recall some kind of indicator lights above the headlight switch to either guide you to the headlight switch in the dark, or just to notify you what position the switch is in, when looking at the switch in the dark. Am I having a brain cramp, or are they all dark?! Things had changed for the easier in Shark land and I didn't know it! Good updated info. That makes the decision really easy for those who are wondering: get the injector software now, then after you're used to it and it doesn't feel fast enough, buy the intake used from somebody who just upgraded to the Shark cam kit (it uses the Euro HFM intake, reliable sources say) and save a couple bucks. And Jay, if you don't mind a short hop to the south side of York, PA, come on up for a sound test. I have muted and unmuted versions for your listening pleasure ; ^ )) Dave Hogg

You cut the strut housing to get the fronts in. That having been said, they're not hard for a shop with a little courage to install, and the results are very good. IMHO the spring you want is the H&R O.E. Sport. It does what you're talking about and gives a nice ride too because it is a progressive rate spring. The Koni/H&R combination makes a really nice daily driver package for M3's in pothole country. Dave Hogg

The headlight/foglight switch is supposed to be lit up whenever the key is turned on in the M3. The bulb is about $1.50 from the dealer. There is a screw on the underside of the dash near the headlight switch. Unscrew it and you will see the bulb. Hope this helps you. I have heard that the bumpstop needs to be trimmed for something or other. On my last M, I did not trim anything, and they seemed fine. Details please. I would like to do this right the first time. If you like, you can just e-mail me at the above address to avoid cluttering the board with such drivel.
