I figured someone would ding me on that! I've signed an NDA to be a test mule, so I didn't want to post numbers. However, I did get an okay from them to talk about the subjective sound of the system (I knew people would want to know), so I did it when I got home while it was fresh in my mind. Sorry to be a tease. :-/ - Chris

He caught me in a construction zone and when he asked my wife if there was something wrong with her she said "no, my husband just drives lika an A** Hole" I immediately hung both hands out the window in the "cuff" position, and asked how much bail would be. the guy wrote a ticket for 110 in a 65 zone and I negotiated it down to 89 but it cost big bucks. Date: Fri, 21 Dec 2001 16:11:15 -0800 (PST) From: Joe Tan <mailjtan@yahoo.com> Subject: RE: first impressions - Rogue Engineering DMS exhaust Let me get this straight. You lied to Rogue about your car being stock and they went thru all this trouble of installing the exhaust on your car and dyno it. How the heck do you forget you had a JimC chip yoru car??I'd be pissed if I was Rogue, The whole point for the to do this is to get a good stock to baseline chart and see what kind of gain their exhaust would make! Sound like a sweet exhaust, I hope you didn't write this cause you felt guilty in waisting Rogue's time. Joe. --------- ---Snip----- Unfortunately during the dyno runs when the car pulled to 7000rpm, I realized I still had the JimC chip in there. Crap. So it looks like my runs aren't useful as a stock data point, but it was still a joy to hear my car on the dyno with it. I have to admit that when the stock system went back on, the car sounded disappointingly wimpy on the dyno. Maybe I've finally met my dream system after all. And, it's at least a good 20+lbs of weight savings as a bonus! - Chris __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Hi Joe, thanks for the flame. For what it's worth, I offered to cover the dyno runs for their trouble. I didn't lie to them, but it was a mistake on my part. Originally the dyno run was cancelled because UPS didn't deliver the exhaust in time. On the evening beforehand, I received a message after 11pm that UPS came through after all at around 8pm and we were on after all. Given that I had been working for 12 hours and I didn't get this message until about midnight, I wasn't very lucid when I swapped the chip, and ended up "double-swapping" the chip while cleaning the contacts with contact cleaner. The JimC/OEM chips look very similar, and it's easy to get them confused. I was also in a hurry because I had to leave my house at 6:15am the next morning to make it to their shop on time. So yeah, I screwed up. I'm not sure why I feel compelled to defend myself publicly, but there it is. To address your last point, I wrote (and exposed my mistake in the process) solely because I believed people would be interested in hearing an opinion on the sound as soon as possible. Cheers, - Chris
