Just wondering if anyone has seen or used these and where they got them" From your BMW dealer. The rear H-K speaker pods use 6x9s that could easily be modified to take any aftermarket speakers.

I would say keep an eye on the cooling system components. I replaced the thermostat housing with an aluminum version, and plan on replacing the radiator every 3 years with full fluid changes (brake, tranny, diff) every 2 years. Also, flush coolant every year and keep an eye on the bushings (especially rear trailing arm bushings). Wes '95 M3 >I know of a couple of people with Club >Racers pushing around 175k miles. Good 'ol UUC. Apparently one of the part numbers on the site listed for springs is a part number for a strut...be glad you didn't order that! Anyway, depending on the options selected for your car, different springs were installed. The least equipped cars got: 31 33 2 228 170s Put on - Passenger air bag - sunroof - power seats - headlight cleaning system - air conditioning - HK sound and you get 31 33 2 228 171 Jim El Nabli's car has these springs and his car is definitely higher than my car (he had BMW individual and got the headlight cleaning system as a factory option). The ride with these springs also seems more plush than my car. Now...since there were more options available in europe, there are different variations of springs: 31 33 2 228 170 31 33 2 228 171 31 33 2 228 172 for the front (as far as I can see) Yes, these are "euro" springs as they came equipped on cars in europe, but two of them were available in the states. I'm sure the euro springs people are more interested in are the ones that are much stiffer/aggressive. I believe the real springs people are looking for are: 31 33 2 227 421 (cars without AC...probably the LTW springs as well) 31 33 2 227 422 (cars with AC) 33 53 9 064 881 (rear spring if you want to get the complete set) BTW, for the rear on '96+ cars, two springs are available: 33 53 9 069 132 33 53 9 069 133 HTH, Chester ===== __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Damn. Does that mean 175k miles on a track-driven car? Impressive. Jeff 97 M3/4 42k miles, <1k of which are on the track

In the last several months, several of UUC's Tech Tips have received updates and corrections. Unfortuntely, UUC was concerned about the accuracy of the information on the E36 M3 spring page, as that would fall in-line with the other ridiculous errors we found. When I last used the Longacre spring tester, I found that whomever had used it last had left it out of calibration. I cannot comment on its accuracy at the time the data on that page was recorded, but I am now planning an update with information on Eibach, H&R Sport and Race springs, and a few others I had the opportunity to test with the correctly calibrated spring tester. I was hoping to also include updated information with submissions from certain list members, but perhaps that fell through the cracks with the holidays and whatnot. Chester, with your permission, I'd be glad to add that info to the site, as well as any data that other list members could supply. Sorry for the confusion gang, but I promise the source of that confusion is no longer an issue. Matt Malfa

And what are you comments on the 3? I have used LTW springs, (came on the LTW, haha) then put H&R sport springs. I felt they were not as stiff as the stock LTW springs. Then tried H&R race springs. maybe a tad stiffer but alot lower. The stock LTW spring is not shorter than the standard US M3 spring and will in most cases, raise the car a bit vs stock springs. Since they are the same length and higher rate spring. I then moved to a strange match of european Race springs and some H&R race springs. Finally got that magic balance of stiffer rear vs front ratio that I wanted. Tracked M3s like 1000 + lb springs! Mike
