I'm sure a few pounds can be saved, and I know we are all paranoid about accidental activations (do they really happen?), but if I hit the wall or another car, am I really going to still have or need steering control? Is it at all possible that these will be eventually become the norm in racing too, like helmets, cages, bars, HANS devices etc.? My car sees the track about 6 times/year so I wouldn't consider removal anyway. Carl Stern

I think it stayed on for 30 seconds every time I started the car, then would go off. It's a common failure on the E36 cars. - Chris

I'm looking for 245/40 ZR 17. I have to replace one of the rear tires on my 99 M3. If I can't find a used one, I probably have to replace both the rears with new ones. Also, does anyone know where I can get a good deal for new T1-S tires in San Jose(South Bay)? Thanks. ===== -Yella v_yella@yahoo.com __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Clark" <toclark@cisco.com> Subject: Suggestions for Harness Belts Guys and Gals, I'm trying to decide what I want as a set of belts for my '99 M3 and would like to get your opinions. I had Scroth Ralley 4's in my last car and they were good but I'd prefer to have something different this time. What I'd like to get is a Cam-Lock 5-point set this time but I'd also like to; a. Have them easily removable between track days, and b. use stock attachment points somehow. I know I'm probably asking for the world but I thought I'd ask anyway! TIA, Tom

I have a set of Simpson 5pt. and we can at least mount the submarine belt and one lap belt to a factory location (the two seat rail bolts). Can't seem to find a stock location to mount the other side lap belt. I am mounting the shoulder belts to my rollbar but I dunno where you would mount then on a stock location... Let alone have any of this easily removable. If any of you out there know a way I would be really interested to hear how... Mark From: "Thomas G. Clark" <toclark@cisco.com> Reply-To: "Thomas G. Uses the stock mounting point in front and rear plus with the cut-out switch allows for movement on the street and locking the belts for the track. Only downside is with belts they say no rear seat passenger, but it's a snap connection to disconnect when someone is in the rear. I've had mine for 2 years and use them as my daily belts and on the track. Only disconnect if someone is behind me.
