Other colors are probably too hard to match. I wouldn't want to even try black or daytona violet (my color). Silver's my fave for painted moldings, but I suppose white would look good too. If I had silver I'd seriously have to think about doing this.. But I agree, the car looks killer with the dark stripe, too. Now I need to Forever Black my moldings so they don't look so black/white streaky :) - reid > You gotta get them painted. You also have to have them smooth the mouldings > before they paint them. There are also stronger polyurethane bushings made by Powerflex for $70/pair, order from www.spatechnique.com or http://www.opmd.com/ andy r.

What pros or cons would I get by using the below setups for my trailing arm bushings? a) plain OEM bushings b) OEM w/ the GC inserts/spacers c) PowerFlex bushings d) PowerFlex w/ the GC inserts/spacers Thanks! That must be why you're replacing them? :) The OEM ones universally fail. The GC spacers are a good approach, but there isn't yet a lot of experience that shows they prevent failure. Or the people with said experience aren't speaking up... People with the PF bushings like them a lot too, and don't report excess harshness. > What pros or cons would I get by using the > below setups for my trailing arm bushings? > a) plain OEM bushings > b) OEM w/ the GC inserts/spacers > c) PowerFlex bushings > d) PowerFlex w/ the GC inserts/spacers I don't think you can combine the PF and GC units due to the shape of the bushings, nor does it seem necessary.

Get references from people in your area who've had alignments done on their BMW and are happy with the results. A true alignment expert using string, bubble gum, and a carpenter's level can do a better alignment than a rookie at the dealer with the latest, greatest Hunter machinery. I'd prefer an independent with a mechanic who specializes in alignments and has been aligning BMWs for a number of years. -- Ron Katona

Not a substitute for replacing bad TA bushings, but a fine addition for good ones. Neil 96 M3
