TCK says no need with these springs ... H&R says > to do it ... any thoughts appreciated. My H&R datasheet says to trim the bumpstops on the 29 910/29 910.2 (Sport springs for 95 and 96+ M3 respectively) and the 50 410.88 (Race spring, 95 pattern), by 0.75" at the front only in both cases. The OE Sport is the 50410.55 (note similar but not same P/N) and isn't listed. This seems logical, since they only lower the car moderately. So I think that TCK and H&R in fact agree. No trimming needed. on 1/23/02 12:57 AM, Chester Wong <chester_p_wong@yahoo.com> wrote: > AFAIK, trimming bumpstops is only something considered for the Bilsteins > struts...not the Koni SAs. Not so. #2. Luxury Interior Package - from Chuck Hanson

Date: Wed, 23 Jan 2002 10:56:28 -0700 From: Chuck Hanson <chuckh@dpsabq.com> Subject: Luxury Interior Package I am in the process of searching for my first M3 and my lovely wife is telling me that she really wants the luxury interior package. Since she also really wants me to buy a 4-door, this has really limited the number of available cars. Very few Autotrader.com ads indicate "Luxury Package", while many tout the sport seats. Is the luxury package really as rare as these ads would indicate? I'm on the digest so please respond directly. Thanks. Chuck Hanson Albuquerque, NM

My question is; Is the ABS pump a wear & tear item? Basically I don't know if the pump is electronic, mechanical, or what and whether/how it wears out? #4. brake fluid - from kitwetzler@mindspring.com

Motul 600 is the best brake fluid I've had the pleasure of using... The ATE didn't have as much fade resistance, and didn't come back as quickly once it did. It's not even really all that much cheaper, either. That said, I find pads are more of a limiting factor than fluid on my car... My pedal usually stays firm at track events, even using the Valvoline synthetic fluid at $4 a quart. -kit -------------------------------------------------------------------- mail2web - Check your email from the web at http://mail2web.com/ .

All I did was press the button once and I was able to leave about 30 feet of rubber off the line. I've got a 95 so I have no experience with DSC in either version. Didn't try to kick out the tail though, maybe there are different modes or levels of control. This was about six, seven months ago when it was in Raleigh, NC Wow, what a car. There's a 2001 silver M coupe that's been sitting on the lot that I've got my eye on... -Jonathan

In the case of Konis you'd risk damaging the internal adjustment mechanism if the shock bottomed hard. > I have seen special bumpstops for the Koni but I wouldn't use > them. If you do, you won't be able to adjust the rear shocks. You have > to completely compress the rears to adjust them. Add a bumpstop > prevents you from compressing the shocks. However yes, you do need to remove the bumpstops - and therefore the RSMs - in order to fully compress the shocks for adjustment. And yes, that is a PITA...which is why I practice the set-and-forget method of adjustment <g> Neil 96 M3

For regular street driving they recommend their Dot 5.1. Just an FYI for ya... Mark 95 ///M3 ps. The *REAL* brake fluid to use is Castrol SRF. Red Line 10W40 for the motor (the BMW synth would be fine as well; I switched to Red Line when the car was seeing a lot of track time). Red Line High-Temp ATF in the power steering system. BMW coolant Chevron Supreme 91 in the gas tank. I think that covers it :-) Cheers, Jim Bassett 1998 M3/4 1993 325is #44 KP - I'll spare you the list for this car :-)
