The fronts are inserts, so go inside the stock housing, so size matters. The rears are complete, so the external diameter, within reason, is not important. He then told me that Dinan did ship the M3 pkg Yup. There are two different sizes of stock struts, and the dealership is telling you the truth. Good thing they are handling it instead of you swearing because the inserts won't fit. :) -kit

Why? Option #3: The official BMW trickle charger, which is the BatteryTender Plus with BMW labeling (but available at 20% off from many dealers) comes with a plug for a lighter/power socket. You can plug it in there and run the Ac line cord out though a window that you have opened just a bit. I plan to add an in-line connector so I can use the lighter end or the BMW motorcycle connector so I can alternate the charger between the M3 and my '73 R75/5. http://www.circlebmw.com/parts/access/82110026663.htm --Dan

Paul, I just installed a StageII a few months ago... According to the Dinan instructions, a small number of strut housings have a smaller diameter top section. You have to measure the outside of the housing to tell if you need the smaller inserts. Since most replacement front struts are complete units (not inserts), the issue probably doesn't come up that often. The rears are complete shocks, so one size fits all. Other than wishing the front was a little lower, I love the package. The ride is the same as, if not better, than stock. Now a question for you... I have 36,500miles with one green bar still on the SI. How did you get the dealer to pro-rate the Inspection II? Spencer Fong, '99M3

I assume your talking about the rear sway bar mounts bending. http://www.turnermotorsport.com/catalog/catalog.htm http://www.turnermotorsport.com/catalog/suspension.htm http://www.turnermotorsport.com/image/suspension/suspension_e36_rsbrk_lg ..jpg I think your choice is mainly between the TMS ones above, or I think Ground Control also makes some. Personally I went with the TMS ones, however I cannot speak for how easy they are to weld in (vs. GC) as mine are still in the box and I plan to do them before the next track day. Jeremy Lucas 95 M3

In the 2001 E46 M3 I drove, you only had to hit the DSC button to disable everything. I haven't driven any 2002 E46s yet, so I'm not sure if this changed in 2002. In order to be (un)safe, I push-and-hold the DSC button any time I begin driving a new BMW. :-) Regards, Steve Jonathan Evans wrote: > At my Drive for the Cure spin around the block in the new M3 I had a > different experience. #9. Manual Fan clutch switch addition - from VT

Date: Thu, 24 Jan 2002 05:30:47 -0800 (PST) From: VT <fstbmwm3@yahoo.com> Subject: Manual Fan clutch switch addition Howdy folks, Trying to steal 5-8hp from the stupid engine fan, I am contemplating adding a serially connected switch (extended to the cabin) that enables or disables the stock fan clutch that is engine driven. My point is that when I run a 10 minute race or 1.45sec AutoX I do not worry about engine overheating. I have already removed my all my A/C related components and the radiator is much cooler than before. But I am sure that other folks in colder climates would like to steal 8hp for a few track or drag runs. I do want to switch on (enable) the fan clutch on the cool down lap , at the pits and during the trip to and from the track. Has anyone done it ? I dont want to do the -even better- BML racer solution that removes the fan and fan clutch since I live in the sunny Mediteranian. Thanks in advance.
