Hah! That would work if you aren't prone to warping rotors at long track weekends (I'm getting better), chewing up tires at autocross schools (I ripped whole tread blocks off a set of Pirellis), or will only run the best synthetic oils (because 200 miles on a race track at 6500 rpm _can't_ be good for an engine). > Don't count the helmet, gloves, hotel either since I > have to sleep somewhere and can always wear the clothes around the house. > ;-) Yeah, we'd all be staying at some fleabag motel in a tourist _mecca_ like Willows, CA, walking around in a nomex suit and a helmet that costs more than most people's first car. ;-) > A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, > the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. I'd own a gun, but the money spent on a Beretta .380 would buy me a complete set of race pads! -peterg

Date: Fri, 25 Jan 2002 04:25:59 -0800 (PST) From: russell <driver8m3@yahoo.com> Subject: inspection ii someone was asking getting inspection ii covered if past 36k miles. i tried to get 2 different dealers to schedule the service with 1 green light left at 35k miles and neither would do it. later, when the last green light went out, i called to set up the appointment and was given a 2 week wait. i was at 35.8k miles and there was no way i could have stayed under 36k until the appointment. that was VOB (in maryland). when they wouldnt schedule the appointment with 1 green light left, they insisted that i wouldnt have a problem getting an appointment once the last green went out. i wanted to use VOB to get the free loaner car (i bought the car there). i told VOB to shove it (and that they lost any future service from me), and took it to tate bmw (and paid for a rental vehicle)... russell dakar 99 ===== "let's roll" --todd beamer "the state is the great fiction by which everyone seeks to live at the expense of everyone else" --frederic bastiat "the most foolish mistake we could possibly make would be to allow the subjected people to carry arms" --adolph hitler __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Don't your remember when the M3 was so damn slick you simply couldn't believe it. Remember that first drive and how all memory of your wonderful but stolen Integra slipped from your mind instantly? Remember laying on and off the torque in 2nd and 3rd gear constantly no matter where you were driving because it just felt soooo damn gooooood? That car was stock and used as well. :) Please welcome Sean to the point of no return on the slippery slope he has chosen to stroll down. From this point a mountain goat couldn't save his own ass. Silva will be amongst us club racers in 1 or 2 years with cash being the only possible reason he doesn't try it this year.
