Date: Sat, 02 Feb 2002 14:52:34 -0800 From: Peter Fanning <p.fanning@verizon.net> Subject: Squeaky bushings A few days after installing the Powerflex rear trailing arm bushing they began to squeak. Now it sounds like a hillbilly rocking chair on an old porch. Not a preferable sound. I slathered on all the grease included with the bushings at install. Is there any way to alleviate this sound without removing the trailing arms again? Long term solution? TIA, Peter Fanning '98 M3/4

I just bought a townhouse and got it painted, the painter's minivan leaked oil all over the place. M3 content: my painter (25 year old Polish guy) bought a 98 M3 2 weeks ago. His enthusiam for my M3 and the car in general was amazing. I turned him onto BMWCCA and hope to see him on the track this year. Thanks in advance.

#9. Looking for good wheel polish - from Steve Sun

What is a good aluminum wheel polish to use? I bought this Blue Magic stuff at Pep Boys and it did a decent job, but I'm looking for something better. Is Mother's a good brand? Also, I've heard that after polishing, you can seal up the wheels with Nu Finish. Is that stuff good for the wheels? TIA, Steve 99 M3

#10. Head unit backlight - from Joseph Bachman III
Top
Date: Mon, 04 Feb 2002 15:04:58 +0000 From: "Joseph Bachman III" <josephbachman@hotmail.com> Subject: Head unit backlight Hey gang - I've just recently noticed that the back light on my stereo head unit does not always dim whe I turn on the parking or headlights (some times it flickers between dim and bright). Is there a serviceable connection on the back of the unit that could be the culprit, or is this something internal on the unit that has given up the ghost? I am still under warranty (only 31k on my '99 - how embarrassing!) so I would likely rely on dealer replacement if the unit is bad. Advice? I'd rather not take it in to the dealer for a loose connection. Thanks in advance, as it will help to know what I'm looking for before I pop that sucker out.
