It is in perfect condition, but I no longer need it as my M3 is gone. New these are $149...I'll let this one go for $125 + actual shipping. You can see more about the tool at: http://www.peakeresearch.com/code_tool.shtml Regards, Robert Pace '95 ///M3 <SOLD> '01 S2000 '67 TR-4A

Date: Mon, 4 Feb 2002 22:00:47 -0500 From: "Matt Malfa" <matt@shortshifter.com> Subject: RE: Front Tower Advice Hi Robert, BMW's engineers saw fit to design the factory bar with solid mounts and no hinges, so that might be the first clue that JTD has the right idea. I would add to that the criteria of avoiding smooth-surface slotted mounting methods. I have experience with the factory bar, the original UUC Motorwerks StrutBarbarian, and the JTD bar. All incorporate solid mount designs into nice finished pieces, with the caveats that 1) I am a bit biased <g>, and 2) I definitely prefer the JTD bar's faux CF add-ons to the questionable logo scripting underneath. If you don't already have an X-brace, then that might be a good place to start stiffening your chassis. But other than that, go for it! Or keep your eyes peeled for something new from UUC ;-) - -Matt Malfa matt@shortshifter.com -----Original Message----- From: Robert Exconde [mailto:99e36m3@exconde.com] Sent: Monday, February 04, 2002 9:31 PM To: E36M3 Subject: [E36M3] Front Tower Advice Date: Mon, 4 Feb 2002 20:25:04 -0600 From: "Robert Exconde" <99e36m3@exconde.com> Subject: Front Tower Advice I have a 99M3 and I"m considering it. After installation, I noticed the that the car is stiffer coming into my parking garage at work, as I enter the ramped entrance at an angle. However, on the road, the effect of the brace is subtle at best. The x-brace provided a much more discernable effect. Anyway, Rob L. of UUC told me a while back that the UUC unit will be back in production one day soon. Rogue Engineering is also supposed to come out with their non-hinged design. The only other one on the market that I know of is the unit from www.strong-strut.com However, it does not appear that the strong strut site shows the detailed pics of their new pivotless design that were up on the site a few months ago, but only a reference to the new pivotless design. I think the Motorsport brace is the best of the breed, but you'll have to perform an ACSectomy to accomodate it. Mine just started this rattling noise about 2 weeks ago and I haven't had the time to climb under it to see what the problem was. Now that I've read this, at least I know what it is. That doesn't mean it will get fixed anytime soon, at least I know the problem. Using a flat blade screwdriver, pry the top of cluster FOWARD and DOWN. 3. Slide cluster out a bit 4. Disconnect 3 connectors on back 5. Finish sliding cluster out (wiggle out past steering wheel if you haven't removed it, can be done with or without tilt wheel) Pretty easy procedure all in all. - -Matt Malfa matt@shortshifter.com -----Original Message----- From: Michael Turgeon [mailto:turgeon1@yahoo.com] Sent: Monday, February 04, 2002 11:11 PM To: E36M3 Subject: [E36M3] e36 instrument cluster removal Date: Mon, 4 Feb 2002 20:00:54 -0800 (PST) From: Michael Turgeon <turgeon1@yahoo.com> Subject: e36 instrument cluster removal Hi Gruppe: The dashboard removal is going slowly but surely. #10. Sway bar setting - from Ahmad Lutfeali
Top
Date: Tue, 5 Feb 2002 09:36:42 -0500 From: "Ahmad Lutfeali" <m3_racer99@hotmail.com> Subject: Sway bar setting I wanted to dial in my swaybar setting. This is my current setup: Bilstein sport/H&R sport, RD swaybars (front and rear both full soft), -2 front and rear camber (1/16" toe out front). I was thinking of setting the rear bar one notch (full stiff) and the front on level 2 (middle setting). Anyone running this swaybar setting (as compared to full soft front and rear) with the same shocks/springs as I am running? If so, what are your .02 cents? I want to dial out the tiny bit of understeer that I still have (but cant run more camber since the car sees the street). Or if someone has a different setting they are running (and have compared it to what I am running now) please give me some feedback. When I spoke with HMS, they said to keep it at full soft all the way. Thanks in advance. Ahmad A. Lutfeali M3C97 Boston, MA
