Date: Tue, 12 Feb 2002 13:58:55 -0800 From: "twisty M3" <twistym3@hotmail.com> Subject: [E36M3] LS Prices: Worth it? Just saw that Tracquest has a school going on at Laguna Seca in April for $625, including the "lavish banquet" on Saturday night. LS always seems to be in this price range, but I'm wondering if the two day schools ever come in a bit less expensive. They do offer one day for $375, but I can't see getting as much benefit out of that track in only one day, unless you already know it really well (I don't think GT2/GT3 count). ;) Anyone have suggestions on better-priced LS events, or should I just jump on this one? Really want to get be there and not just be watching. I think someone mentioned the Shelby Club before, so I'll look into that if the instructors are good. Do you have the offset bushings or the centered ones? Mine have been fine for 8K street miles, and 1 track event at Laguna... Just looked at mine yesterday and they are fine. hopefully the one you got had a defect... please keep us posted if you have any other issues! -kit -------------------------------------------------------------------- mail2web - Check your email from the web at http://mail2web.com/ .

Car should've come with these from the factory. I've put almost 40K on them and they still amaze me. They've also been through 20+ track days. just make sure you don't set them riceboy low, and that you get the right adjustors for your car. I drive my car 15 miles to work each morning and get to work with a smile on my face. -kit 97 m3/4 w/ lotsa stuff -------------------------------------------------------------------- mail2web - Check your email from the web at http://mail2web.com/ .

Really want to get be there and not just be > watching. Sorta answers the question, doesn't it? :-) > I think > someone mentioned the Shelby Club before, so I'll look into > that if the > instructors are good. That one showed up last minute - missed it :-( I don't know anything about their instructors really, but see if Roger Baker is there (Roger? Hello?) He's got some mutant E36 that he runs with the Shelby Club, and is also an instructor, I believe. Nice guy, and should be able to hook you up with an instructor. Shelby Club is a pretty good group to run with IMO. Too bad I can't make it on Friday. FWIW, I'll be at the TracQuest event. I tried to sign up as an instructor (instructed with them at BW last year), but wouldn't you know it, they had more than enough instructors for that event (gee, instruct and in return drive Laguna for free :-)). So I'll be there as a student, but will be available to help lend a hand instructing if need be. Cheers, Jim Bassett 1998 M3/4 1993 325is #44 KP

People who have ordered since then appear to be getting their units, even when the online store webpage flops back and forth between "out of stock" and "in stock." - Chris

How about a bad sensor (dirty or broken) on the right side? The sensors can go bad or they may just need cleaning as they can get contaminated from road crud. Regards, Rich
