IT did Require rolling the front AND rear fenders, but it was not that bad. I personally would not use a wheel with a spacer, thats just me, but wont do it. I had about -3.2 camber in the front and a range of -1.8 to -2.2 in the rear. The rear fenders required the seam under the fender lip to be trimmed and then the fender was rolled. I used the hakkikiki(whatever you call it) fender roller. Using a round piece of wood worked just as well IMO. The front fender is so soft when I tried to use the roller, never could get it to hold the shape. Worked much better with the car sitting on the wheels and just pushing it with a piece of wood between the tire and fender. My paint also cracked using both methods with heating it etc. Think I ran out of patience which could have been part of the problem. 17X9 rims are the way to go for track use though, much better contact patch with 255s Mike ----- Original Message ----- From: "Geof McLaughlin" <gfmiiilist@usa.net> To: "E36M3" <e36m3@bmw-m.net> Sent: Saturday, February 23, 2002 9:27 AM Subject: Re: [E36M3] Anyone with 17x9's all around? > Date: Sat, 23 Feb 2002 09:13:56 -0500 > From: Geof McLaughlin <gfmiiilist@usa.net> > Subject: Re: [E36M3] Anyone with 17x9's all around? > > I have no experience running rims with a negative offset that low as I run > 17"x9" IFGs, one with a 40mm offset and the other 41.5. > > The lowest offset that I have heard used was by Robbie Kollar and Mike > Lawrence who were running 17"x9" IFG rims with a 35mm offset and had no > real problems to speak of. #3. anti-creak agent? - from The Abels

I've been messing around with it (yeah, I'm a geek) and came upon a product in the "Manufacturing Supplies" category, sub-cat "Anti-Creak Agent". A first part number of 83 19 9 408 272, described as "MolyKote D96" and 83 19 9 408 523 "Special Lubricant". Anyone know what these are, and where/how they are used? Grassyass. I have had 17x8.5" et23mm with 245/40/17's and zero issues on the front with stock fenders. It is the rear that I am a bit more worried about. It seems as if some guys run 17x9 et40mm with 255/40/17's. This put the outer edge of the tire in a similar place to where mine will be with a 245/40/17. A 245 on the 9" wheel will also have a better (more angled) sidewall to help clearance. Rob

I pulled the clutch apart becuase it felt like it was slipping on the highway. When I got it apart I found that the disc was worn but not worn out. I'm wondering if it's possible that the two pieces of the flywheel were slipping in a complete circle? I didn't get any clunks or rattling at idle so maybe the flywheel really is okay and the clutch just got tired of holding 350 ft-lbs from the turbo.. -Matt --- Neil Maller <neil.maller@gte.net> wrote: > on 2/23/02 2:37 PM, Matt Henson > <hensonator@yahoo.com> wrote: > > > Well the clutch saga continues (we're at weekend 3 > and > > counting..).
