They are very easy to install, and the "tool" that I made to insert them only cost a few dollars. Follow this link to find out how :-) http://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=11540 I don't think you will need to drill the holes. The inserts should slide right in. Good luck! SO what you had was a one-time fault. Cheers, Jim Bassett

#9. Question on trailer wiring? - from Chris Turrisi
Top
Date: Wed, 13 Mar 2002 13:35:48 -0500 From: Chris Turrisi <cturrisi@worldnet.att.net> Subject: Question on trailer wiring? OK gang, First off, sorry for the cross post.... Secondly, I have recently purchased a used steel open car trailer to carry my race car and spent this weekend rewiring it. Everything work out well and I would like to wire some additional turn and stop lights on the tire rack and have a few questions on how exactly to wire it. The trailer uses the red lamps at the rear of the trailer as the parking, turn and stop lamps. I would like to have yellow turn signals and red stop lamps (I bought four separate lamps, 2 yellow and 2 red) mounted them to the top of the tire rack. I know that if I wire the turn signal wires to the yellow lamps, that when I use my turn signals everything will work right, but when I step on my brake lights, the yellow turn signals will light up and not the red stop lamps. Anyone know how to wire these lamps? The tow vehicle is a 98 Jeep Grand Cherokee, if that matters and I am using a 7 plug connector at the back of the Jeep. Thanks in advance for the help, Chris T.

The metal that you would be tapping is less than 3mm thick. You wouldn't have enough strength there for any real support. Thats why they put the nutserts in, to give it some solidity behind it. Someone else may want to explain it better, I hate typing on this laptop. John Ruther is extremely knowledgeable, endurance races porshes, has a GT3 but appreciates all road cars. They usually stock Pagid in orange, yellow and sport blue for M3's and can probably get any other flavor. They also carry a wide selection, helmets, suits, gloves, fluids and etc. No affiliations just a satisfied customer.
