#1. aquamist install - from Paul Elliott

Im still on my .6mm jet, and the spray seems powerful and plentiful..I had been planning on going to the .7mm nozzle when it warms up, along with a lower trigger pressure, but if there are any compelling reasons to go up to 1mm, Id consider it....one thing Id be careful of with such a low trigger point, ie, 2 psi, as you indicated, combined with such a large nozzle is bogging the engine, which Karl claims is not all that infrequent even with a smaller nozzle and their 4psi trigger point. >>Took the car a day or two to figure out that it had more knock resistance.<< How do you mean? #4. Larger injectors for 1995 M3 - from Paul Elliott

Which in turn would tend to suppress knock at least a bit, which in turn would effect what the knock sensor reports back to the dme, which in turn would effect the amount of timing retard being called for. I dont know if this is specifically what you were referring to, but it could be said that in this way, timing IS effected by the mixture. Date: Tue, 26 Mar 2002 00:02:23 EST From: HYPERM3@aol.com Subject: RE: Supercharger software .. They included a band-aid fuel controller that altered signals to the ECU to make the car run. It obviously didn't work all that well. Yeah, I have this and have to constantly change the knob positions because the stock programming readapts to the settings. I wonder if this gets taken off if I do get it reprogrammed or do I have to leave it on. Funny how I feel more comfortable asking this list instead of calling Osh directly. Also, I was wondering if anyone is using an HKS super AFR HKS USA Super AFR (Air Fuel Ratio Regulator) <http://www.hksusa.com/products/more.asp?id=811> on their cars. Ive read on other forums that they have been used to good advantages on our cars. Just looking for some input here. Thanks, Alex "HyperM3" Demsky The Troubled S/C M3

Street cars won't be spending enough time at high rpm where you will be maxing them out. You reach the limit of the stock injectors in the upper 280 hp range IIRC. If you have the basic mods and are making close to this range, your injectors will have a high duty cycle. If you then run at high rpm for sustained periods (track) you can heat them up & larger injectors have been commonly used to alleviate this. However, I don't know of any cases of the stock injectors "burning out" so to speak if used at their limits, though it should be possible to overheat anything. I'm not familiar with the solenoids in these injectors (or how much torque they have), but any electro-magnetic device will change it's operating characteristics drastically as the coil heats. -- Roger Baker RogRacer@aol.com wrote: > This is odd. #9. M3 LTW Oil Pan Questions - from Prakash Maggan

Date: Tue, 26 Mar 2002 05:14:34 -0800 (PST) From: Prakash Maggan <pmaggan@yahoo.com> Subject: M3 LTW Oil Pan Questions Greetings all, I have a question for those of you with M3 LTW oil pans. How much oil does it take to get to the full mark on the dipstick? It has been taking me exactly 7 quarts to get there. I had my mechanic change the oil last Friday since he was installing my new E30 aluminum control arms anyway. I think he overfilled by around a half of a quart and maybe by 1 full quart. I noticed this in the morning when I checked the oil before leaving for work. When I left work last night, I noticed something I hadn't noticed ever before in the cold weather, everything was nice and quiet instead of the din of noisy lifters. I had previously had to listen to the very noisy lifters until several minutes after I had started driving (at low RPMs of course). I also remember getting an extra dipstick and tube when I got the LTW oil pan, but I thought that dipstick was for 96+ cars only. So, is my oil level overfull, or do I just have the wrong dipstick? (Or maybe I'm the dipstick :)) Any ideas or comments? Thanks ===== Prakash Maggan http://hometown.aol.com/dinan750 Email: prakash@maggan.org __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo!
