While it definitely appears you may have biases, don't we all? For my part, I have done business with most of the vendors recently mentioned, and none of them are perfect, yet I would still do business with all of them again (with my eyes open). #3. Questions on Borla Race Exhaust System - from Eric M. Foster

Foster" <e36m3digest@jedinite.com> Subject: Questions on Borla Race Exhaust System I'm building a dedicated track car, a 12/95 build 1995 M3 (no sunroof). I'm looking at exhaust systems. I'm building the car to current IP CCA Racing Specs, which means the exhaust system is free. Leading contender right now is the Borla Race Exhaust System: http://www.turnermotorsport.com/detail.asp?PRODUCT_ID=16757 This appears to be the most reasonably priced race system available. Does anyone have any feedback or response on this choice? Any other suggestions? TIA! -Eric ///M Foster http://bmw.jedinite.com

Agreed. on most cars, the ECU can't accurately read the knock sensor over a given threshold, usually 5500 rpm or so... anyone know to what rpm the Siemens ECU can read the knock sensor? (other than paul e? ;) Usually the noise/vibration of the engine becomes too much for the knock sensor to deal with. I know I've seen timing pulled out at the upper rpms in my car, I wonder if it is in response to knock heard earlier in the rpm band? -kit, who is gonna be playing ecu hacker soon -------------------------------------------------------------------- mail2web - Check your email from the web at http://mail2web.com/ .

#5. Part Help (Strut Bar) - from Philip

Date: Fri, 5 Apr 2002 11:46:03 -0800 From: Philip <estorilphil@highstream.net> Subject: Part Help (Strut Bar) Hey everyone. While in Montréal, I picked up a BMW magazine from the UK. Anyway, long story short, it described a front "strut bar" (even with a partial picture) for the E36 car. The part number is #51-71-84-102-12. So of course I called my local dealer (Crevier) & asked if they've got this part. To my great surprise, they've got in stock (!). But it turned out to be the X-brace when I got there and ask to see it (on the computer screen). What gives? Isn't the part number for the X-brace 51-71-8-201-234 different? Anyone know what the deal is? Supposedly, it's a strut brace (directly from BMW) that fits E36 cars with traction control? Is it only available in the UK? Btw, I'll be in Chicago/NYC from 4/12-4/23 on business. If anyone wants to meet up for a drink or something, let me know... Thanks... Phil 99 M3/2, x, sharked, ss...etc etc...

(Don't ask). Also, the Oktoberfest 2001 souvineer one fits great. Garage remote - clip on, sorry. Euro - just added the headlights but no pictures yet. See Bavarian Auto for pics.
