Mike, Not counting that the street tire rim protector will likely be of no use, the Bridgestone answer is NO. Anything from 7.5-9.0" wide rim will work: http://www.bridgestone-usa.com/products/s03pptec.htm When in doubt, check with the tire manufacturer, alex

#4. Re: [E36M3] oil change interval and SI lights - from Ron Buchalski

Date: Tue, 16 Apr 2002 22:09:04 +0000 From: "Ron Buchalski" <rbuchals@hotmail.com> Subject: Re: [E36M3] oil change interval and SI lights Jason, The temp gauge on your dashboard is measuring COOLANT temperature. It takes 10-15 minutes of highway driving to get the oil temperature up to operating range. When you take the 'long way' to work, and travel two miles (instead of 1/2 mile), your oil will still be very cool. Then, you'll park the car for eight hours, and as the crankcase cools, moisture will condense inside the engine. You'll drive a 1/2 mile home, and add a little more condensation to the crankcase when you shut down the car for the night. You repeat this daily. Over time, the moisture accumulation will be significant enough to mix with the oil and create a light brown 'scum' inside the engine. Not an ingredient for long engine life! Open your oil fill cap and see if you have any brown scum on the bottom. I would consider this 'severe service', and change your oil more frequently than the SI lights indicate. 3 months/3000 miles would be a good change cycle for you. Another thing: by primarily driving your car during cold cycle operation, it'll be running richer, and will tend to carbon foul the combustion chambers. Maybe you need to get a Segway HT for your 1/2 mile commute! http://www.segway.com/segway/ -rb >Date: Tue, 16 Apr 2002 13:38:59 -0400 >From: "Jason Jensen" <jasonjensen75@hotmail.com> >Subject: Re: [E36M3] oil change interval and SI lights > >My last oil change was at the dealer when my oil pump went out (what a >nightmare that was). I've got an 8psi can of shut-the-hell-up for your wussy extra gear carrying heated pedal, dashboard washer, power cupholder, sewing machine. SB52 with hairdryer playing the 20rwhp 20 ft lbs of torque at a lower rpm song in front of alan. :) Alan I think your car needs NOS. BTW, slapped in the 5L washer tank from the euro M3 (thanks chester!). Kind of a pain because I had to drill a hole for the level sensor, but that was pretty easy and I got it right so no leaks... just remember to put the grommet in first then put the pump and level senders in. Now, I've got plenty of water injection fun! -kit, roasting his poor mxx3s to over torqued heaven

Will BMW do the inspection 2 with 1-2 green lights still on?<< I presume your talking about the srvc 36K mile warranty...I think its more up to the dealer than BMW...My dealer gave me a few hundred miles credit, and gave me the Inspec II no charge...Of course, I was buying a Dinan suspension at the same time, but my point is that it depends on the dealer. There is some flexibility among some of them.
