Date: Tue, 16 Apr 2002 21:39:34 -0400 From: S Lafredo <slafredo@fast.net> Subject: Re: E36 Warranty question They will ONLY do warranty service w/one light or less. Therefore, if you have a new BMW it is advantageous to have your warranty services done as early as possible (read: as soon as you have one green light remaining) every time. This means they will be resetting lights earlier w/lower mileage and therefore you will probably get the Inspection II covered. There may have been some dealer good will in the past where they let you slide but I think BMW is trying to put an end to that. Just my observations. I believe they did quite well. James C. may chime in here. From tire engineers that I've spoken with, the relatively wide 8.5 rim should give a higher effective spring rate, improving turn-in as compared to narrower 7.5 and 8" rims. Expect no rim protection and a stiffer ride. Jeff

Maybe I am missing a joke here? I don't know. Maybe I have no clue what class my car would be in based on engine, I thought my car and a 95 M3 would both be in I Prepared unless I stuck in a 3.2. Only exception I am aware of is the 3.0 liter E36 M3 LTW which is bumped to H Stock and H Prepared to race with the big dog 96+ machines. My 95 Motor has Euro HFM, Conforti Chip, ECIS Intake, and a Borla and it's about dead even in a straight line with my completely optioned out 99 M3. I am running a 3.15 diff in the 92 with all the rest of a stock 95 M3 drive train and the 99 is completely stock except a Conforti Intake. Of course when it comes to turn in and trail braking my race car rules.
