Part #s and such... Search the archives. The instructions have gone out a few times (I know I sent them out at least twice). I have searched the archives effectively if I used subject words on top of the potential author's e-mail address. I found some great write-ups that way. -p ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This message was sent using HiSpeed Technologies Webmail. http://www.hispeed.com

I think its due to the less precise manufacturing of the sockets. They are definitely more loose than the factory lights. If I hit a good bump (my car is fairly stiff) I'll get the code. It goes away after the next restart. I've only checked once or twice but even when the error has been indicated the brake lights are still functioning. I bought mine from bekkers. They are supposedly OEM but they are definitely not OE. The quality of the fronts and rears is noticebly less than stock and without handy dandy silicone (and racing tape) my front clear lenses would be spread all over the track. I've come in from track sessions more than once with them hanging from the racing tape (now they are siliconed in and do not budge). #4. Rogue Eng. Big Brake pad replacement? - from Jason Sarich

Date: Wed, 8 May 2002 09:47:26 -0700 From: "Jason Sarich" <sarich_m3@prontomail.com> Subject: Rogue Eng. Big Brake pad replacement? Ladies and Gentlemen, I have the Rogue Engineering Big Brake kit, and I am not happy with the performance of the Hawk HPS pad that comes with the kit. It is time to replace it. I wanted to step it up to the Hawk HP+ pad, but alas, Hawk doesn't make that pad for the Brembo Caliper of the Rogue Kit. Can anyone suggest a brake pad that is equal or greater in performance for (street/track) use, than the Hawk HP+ pad? I don't want a strictly track use pad, nor a strictly street use pad. I want to keep squealing to a minimum, but I understand that that is a tough request with higher performance pads. Any suggestions would help. I bought mine from Bekker's as well and have not had a single problem with them. I have seen some imitation ones from Procarparts (I think that's where they were from) and the quality difference was huge. I am fairly certain the ones that I got were OEM from Europe. Your best bet is to buy a set from a dealer like Circle BMW. Ariel 99 Titanium M3/2 > I bought mine from > bekkers. They are supposedly OEM but they are definitely not OE. #7. Bushing bits (reposted) - from Steve Klein

Date: Wed, 08 May 2002 12:00:06 -0500 From: Steve Klein <klein@robinsonad.com> Subject: Bushing bits (reposted) (reposting this. changed servers and don't know if it got thru) Chester et al.- On the subject of the Rear Trailing Arm bushings and replacements with the BMW tool, can you post some basic specs on the tool dimensions? I'm assuming it's like a wheel puller, two concentric cylinders on a central bolt, the inner cylinder or plate O.D. being sized to match the OEM bushing outer sleeve and the outer cylinder I.D. to receive this with a wall thickness to rest on the trailing arm surrounding the bushing hole. How deep? Am I correct in this assumption? Your info would be greatly appreciated. To that end, I purchased split urethane RT and offset front CA bushings from Bimmerworld last week and I'm gearing up to install them once the aluminum CAs from Turner Motorsports show up. Does anyone have any experience with these components they'd like to share? Any foreseen problems? I'll be doing the work at a friends metal shop, and I plan to use a hydraulic press to R/R the CA bushings in the lollipops, and to make the aforementioned tool for removing the RTBs. Someone mentioned spacers or plates for the RTBs from Ground Control: can you elaborate? The urethane RTB's I have are two halves, each flanged, with a specific length threaded core and two nuts on washers. No outer sleeve, and the instructions state that tightening the nuts flush with the core piece will squeeze the urethane firmly outwards into the trailing arm. Again, much thanks for any and all assistance Steve

Except my problem was a result of one of the plastic tabs on the housing breaking off. I did everything from silicone to tape trying to keep the light snug against the contacts. What ended up solving my problem was wedging the contacts from the light under the contacts of the housing. Its hard to describe, but if you remove the housing and take your time. Its easy to do and the light is in there super tight. Doesn't make for an easy swap of bulbs in the future, but well worth not having to deal with the circuit failure. Hope this makes sense..
